MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, HELD ON
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD. 1959

Present: Councilmen Freeman, Holland, Pounds, Howell and Marsden.
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at 8:00 P. M. and
the minutes of the last regular meeting, held January 20th.1959 were read
and approved.
A motion was made by Councilman Marsden to approve the payment of the
following bills. Motion was seconded by Councilman Howell. Voted and carried.

A Motion was made by Councilman Holland that the City close Lakewood Ave.
from 105 feet South of Lafayette St. to Delaware Ave. when and if the
School board aquires the land east of said street, and when construction
begins. Motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Howell that City Att'y draw up abstract on
Ocoee Cemetery property. Motion seconded by Councilman Marsden. Voted and
carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Holland that City Att'y draw an ordinance
making it compulsary that builder submit a blueprint of building before a
building permit::.can'_,be :issued. Motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden.
Voted and carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Holland that the City adopt the following
resolution. Motion seconded by Councilman Marsden. Councilmen Freeman,Pounds,
Howell, Holland and Marsden voted AYE,no no's. carried unanimously.
RESOLUTION
\~ereas, the City Council of the City of Ocoee, Florida is desirous of furn-
ishing water to the new residential area now under development and within
the City of Ocoee; and
WHEREAS, the Ci~y has ascertained and determined the approximate cost thereof
to be $5,000.00; and '
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of borrowing said sum of $5,000.00 from the
State Bank of Apopka, Florida: and
WHEREAS, said Bank has agreed to loan the City the sum of $5,000.00 at six
(6%) per cent interest on unpaid balance provided the City pledge the sum

'of $140.00 per month from the revenue derived by the City from the
operation of its municipally owned water system to such payment for
the period of approximately thirty six months, now therefor,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE:
1. That the security for the payment of principal and interest on
$5,000.00 there is hereby pledged to the State Bank of Apopka at
Apopka, Florida, the sum of $140.00 per month from the revenue de-
rived by the City from the operation of its municipally o'~ed water
system to such payment for the period of approximately thirty six
months.
2. That the Clerk, Angela C. McCabe and the Mayor, Pat Broadaway,
execute the necessary papers on behalf of the City of Ocoee, to
obtain said money from the State Bank of Apopka.

Done in open session at Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, this
day of February, 1959.

There. being no further business, a motion was made by Councilman
Pounds to adjourn this meeting . Mo~ion was seconded by Councilman
Marsden. Voted and carried. Thereupon Council adjourned at 10;35P.M.

A motion was made by Councilman Pounds at adopt Ordinance # 378, ,being
an Ordinance declaring the entention of the City of Ocoee, Florida to
annex a certain tract of unincorporated land lying contiguous to the
municipal bounderies of the City of Ocoee, Florida and situated in Orange
. County, Florida TO+WIT:
S.E.~ of section 8, Township 22 South, Range 2e East, (Less the N! of the
NW~ ) .
Motion was seconded by Councilman Marsden, and voted for by Councilman I
Freeman, Pounds, Marsden, Holland & Howell. No no's. carried unanimously.
