MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD OCT 2Q,l959
Present: Councilman Freeman, €ounds, Holland, Marsden, & Howell
and Mayor Broadaway
Absent: None
The ~eeting was called to. order by Councilman Freeman at 8:15 P.M.
The Minutes of the last regular meeting held Ocotober 6, 1959, the
special meeting held October 9, 1959 and the special meeting held Oct.
19, 1959 were read and approved.
A motion was made by Councilman Pounds that the Council approve the
following bills. The motion was seconded by Coun~ilman Marsden.

Councilman Ho~J:ahdI;:made a motion to a ccept Ordinance # 397
being a n Ordinance of the City of Ocoee ascertaining the
amount necessary to operate the City of Ocoee, Florida for the
Fiscal year beginning November lst, 1959, and ending October
3lst, 1960. Motion was seconded by Councilman Howell.
Councilmen Howell, Holland, Pounds, and Marsden voted AYE no
no's. Carrfued unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to accept Ordinance #398 being
an ordinance fixing the rate of taxation for the City of Ocoee,
Florida, for the fiscal year beginning November lst, 1959 and
erlding October 31st, 1960. the Motion was seconded by Council-
man Howell. Councilmen, Pounds, Marsden, Howell, & Holland voted
AYE. No no's carried unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to a ccept Ordinance #399 bel ng
an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida levYing a tax upon
taxable property witnin the City of Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal
year beginning November lst, 1959, ending October 3lst, 1959.
Councilman Howell seconded this motion. Councilmen,Pourlds, Howell,
marsden, & Holland voted AYE,. No no's, Carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Councilman Holland to accept Ordinance #400 being an
ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida appropriating and allocating the
revenue of the City of Ocoee, Florida, f or the fiscal year beginning
November lst, 1959 and ending October 3lst, 1960. Councilman Howell
seconded the motionJ Councilmen Holland, ~arsden, Pounds, & Howell voted
AYE. No no's. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Howell made a motion to have Florida Power Corporation to
install 6 more street lights. FbureonnSouth Bluford and two on
Franklin Street. Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Holland,
Pounds, Howell, & Marsden voted AYE. No no's Carried unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to grant permission to Ocoee School, the I
use of the Fire Truck for the Carnival on' October 30th, 1959. Motion
was seconded by Councilman Howell. Councilman Holland, Pounds, Howell
and Marsden voted AYE. No no's. Carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Councilman Howell for the City attorney to draw up
an ordinance neccessary to regulate the parking of house trailors used
for living quarters in the City Limits of Ocoee. Motion was seconded by
Councilman Marsden. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Holland, & Howell voted
AYE. No no,' s. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Holland made a motion to reeess

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING HELD OCTOBER 27, 1959
Present: Gouncilmen, Freemen, Pounds, Holland, Marsden, & Howell

Meeting was, called to order by Councilman Freeman at 11:25 I.M.
Councilman Holland made a motion that the City Council instruct .the
City Attorney to draw up a contract between Holland Anderson, Engineers,
covering Unit 3 & k Reach Lake Manor water distribution system engineering
as to thei~ proposal ~rlth the exception that it shall state that the
system in Unit 4 shall meet the requirements of the State Board of Health.
Payment wilJ. be made upon the acceptance of the State Board of Health.
Motion was ~econded by Councilman Marsden. Councilman Pounds, Marsden,
Holland, & Howell voted AYE. No no's Carried unanimously.
There bein~ no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to
recess this meeting. Councilman Holland seconded the motion. Thereupon
Council recessed at 11:35 P.M.

Meeting was called to order by (pouncilman Freeman at 11:30 A.M.
A mot-ion was made by Councilman Pounds to correct the mistake of
Hos~e Turner who was cBossed off the Registration Book in 1943.
Bouncilman Howell se~nded the motion. Councilman Howell seconded
the motion. Councilman Howell, Holland & Pounds voted AYE. No no's.
carried unanimously.

There being no further business Councilman Holland made a motion
to recess this meeting. Councilman Howell seconded the motion.
