MINUTES OF' THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD DEC. 1, 1959
Present: Councilman: Freeman, Pounds, Laird, Howwll, & Marsden
and Mayor Minor
Absent: None
The meeting was called to .order by Counci Iman Freeman at $: 05 P.M.
The mintes of the last regular meeting held Nov. 19, 1959 were read
and approved.
Councilman Howell made a motion to adjourn the recess meeting held
Nov. 19, 1959. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Voted and
carriedl
Councilman Marsden made a motion that' ~he Council approve the fbl-
lowing bil1s.Councilman Pounds. seconded the motion.

Councilman Pounds made a motion to pay Scott & Dalymple Paving Co.
$500.00. Councilman Howell seconded the mbtion. Councilmen Laird,
Pounds, Howell & Marsden voted AYE No no's. 6arried unanimously.
The following men ,"'Yere .:proved by the council, on the r ecornmerldation 1
of the Mayor, John T. Minor, as special fire policemen and in case
of an emergency.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to appoint Ed Baker. Oouncilman
Howell seconded the motion. voted and carried.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to appoint Joe Saladino. ' Councilman
Marsden seconded the motion. Voted and carried.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to dppoin~ Raymond Maltby. Council-
man HOV'Tel1 seconded the motion. Voted a nd carried.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to appoint Billy Maltby. Councilman
Laird seconded ~he mbtion. Voted and sarried.
Howell made a motion to pay Mr. Tom Hazen $5.00 for work done on the
fire station.-Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen
Pounds, Howell,. Laird, & Marsden voted AYE.-~:No no's carried unanimously.
Councilmen Howell; Laird,. & Marsden were appointed by President of
Council Freeman as the Cemetery Committ€e.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to write Mr. John S. Cooper of the
Southern Bell Telephone Co. in Orlando, a sking horn to come out 'to
discuss the possibility of installing the Bell Telephone System in 1
Ocoee. Counc~lman Howell seconded the mbtion. Councilmen Pounds,
Howell, Marsden, & Laird voted AYE. No no's. carried unanimous~y.
Marsden made a motion to buy 300 feet of 2~ inch f ire hose with a 10
year written gua rantee. Councilman Howell seconded the motion.,
Councilmen Pounds, Laird, Howell, ~ Marsden voted Aye. No no's.
carried unanimously.
Councilman rtlarsden made a motion to secure 2, I! i-nch nozels for the
fire department,. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. CounciJ::men
Pounds, Laird, -Howell, & Marsden voted AYE. No no's. 6arried unanimously
Councilman Marsden made a motion to raise Grady Smith $2.50 a week.
Councilman Howell seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Laird,
Howell & Marsden voted AYE. (, No no's. earried unanimously.
CouncIlman Pounds made a motion to pay tl-:e chairman.of the Street Dept.
$50~00 a month, retracted to November I, 1959. Councilman Marsden
seconded the motion. Councilman Pounds, Marsen, Laird, & Howell
voted AYE. No .no's. Carried unanimously-.
There::"heing no .further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to
recess this mee-ting. Councilman Laird s-econded the motion.. -Thereupon
Council recessed at 10:45.
