MINUTES or SPECIAL MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 3, 1959
Present: Councilmen: Freeman, Pounds, Howell, Marsden, & Laird
Mayor Minor
. Absent; None
Meeting was c aIled to order at 10: 50 P.M. by Mayor Minor, acting as
cha.irman.
A motion was made by Councilman Marsden to appoint Councilman Freeman
as Chairman of the Council. Motion was seconded by Councilman Howell
Councilmen Pounds, Howell, Marsden & Laird voted AYE. No no',s.. Carried
unanimously.
There being no further business
Councilman Marsden made a motion to recess this meeting until Thursday
Nov. 5, 1959 at 8:00 P.M. Motion was seconded by Councilman Howell.
Voted and Carried. Thereupon Council recessed at 10:55 P.M.

Present: Councilmen Freeman, Howell, Marsden & Laird
Mayor Minor
Absent: Councilman Pounds
Meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at 7:50 P.M.
President of Council Freeman then appointed the following as Chairman
and Vice-Charrman of the various departments.
Councilman Howell as Chairman of Street Dept. and Councilman Laird
as Vice-Charrman.
Councilman Marsden as Chairman of Water Dept. and Councilman Pounds
as Vice-Chairman.
Councilman Pounds as Chairman oT Equipment and sightng Purchase
Orders and Councilman Howell as vice-chairman.
Councilman Laird as Chairman of Sanitation dept. and Councilman
Pounds as Vice-Chairman.

Councilman Marsden made a motion to retain George Henry Vandergrift
as Fire Chief, and~,Lenoy:''llu~nerY!asdAs~'ticF:hreJ.eh:hef. Motion was
seconded by Councilman Howell. Voted and carried unanimously.
Councilman Howell made a motion to retain Barbara Mills as City Clerk
and Treasurer. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Voted and carried.
Councilman Marsden made a motion for Spencer C. Cross to continue as
City Attorney. Motion was seconded by Counc~lman Howell. Voted and
carried.
