Councilman !v1arsden made a motion to write Mr. Byron Dorough stRting that his permit no. 739 was being voided and his money refunded because the addition to his house did not meet the City's specfication's of 35 feet from the rear of his property line. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Counciwmen Howell, Reid, Latrd and Marsden voted FOR. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #412 being an Ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida, establishing building re- strictions on Marion Park Subdivisio~.a subdi1ision of the City of Ocoee, Florida according to the Plat thereof as recorded in Plat book >>L", Page 48, Public records of Orange County, Florida; providing for a penalty for violations. Councilman Howell seconded the motion. Councilmen Howell, Reid, MC:lrsden, a nd Laird -roted FOR. No no's. Carried un~nimously. Councilman Reid made a motion to purchase an American LaFrance Fire Truck. Councilman fJIarsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Howe11, Reid, Laird and Marsden voted FOR. No no's. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilmen Marsden made a motion to recess this meeting until A~ril 11, 1961 at 8:00 P.M. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 9:45 P.M. Attest: ~~~~d Cler ~ ~.e~4At) r tie of Council fvITNUTES OF THE r'ffiETING HELD APRIL 11, 1961 Present: Councilmen: Freeman, Howell, Reid, Laird, and Marsden Absent: None On a meeting regularly held on April 11, 1961 Mr. Ben Grifffin appeared and announc.ed that he represented Mr. Byron Dorough a nd he would like for the City to give them an opinion as to whether or not i~ would be permissible for Mr. Dorough to construct a dwelling house on a 50 foot lot in width. He asked if the City wo~ld do this in leiu or trlem goj.ng to the expense of having a set of blue prints or plans drawn up and submitting an anplication as required by Or- dinances of the City of Ocoee. There bEid:~g present attr,that time in the Council room several owners of property in the neighborhood where Mr. Dorough proposed to construct this building and Mr. Freeman, Chairman of the Council having asked if any of the property owners present had any objection and it appearing that all property owners present voiced their ob- jection thereto and the Council hewing discussed the ':problem among themselves, Councilman Marsden made a moti:m that ~1r. Griffin's question be answered in the negative. Councilman Howell seconded the motion. Councilmen Howell, Marsden, Reid and Loird voted FOR. No no's. Carried unanimously. Thereupon ~r. Griffin was advised that ~1r. Dorough vlould not be permitted to construct a dwelling house on a 50 foot lot in Marion Park as the same would not comply with the ordinances of the City, the comprehensive zoning plan and all property owner's owning property contigious and adjClcent to the property, having voiced their objections. There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Thereupon Council adjourned at 9:10 P.M. ~st: __n~A ~& .
