M. Minutes of theregular meeting held June 20, 1961 and the special meeting held June 28, 1961 were read and approved. .Councilman Marsden r.1ade a motion that Council approve the following bills. Councilmen Dodge and Marsden voted YES. No. no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Dodge made a motion to appoint Councilman Cliff Freeman as a member of the Board of Directors for the Ocoee Recreation~ and Youth Center. Councilman Marsden seconded tbe motion. Councilmen Dodge and Marsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unamimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to appoint Councilman James Laird to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Orange County Water Conservation and Control Act. Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. Councilmen Dodge and Marsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Dodge seoonded the motion. Freeman, Laird~ Dodge, and Marsden and Reid Absent: Mayor Minor The special meeting was called to order by Councilman James Laird. at 3:05 P.M. .Mr. WilKins LinhDrt of the Florida Railroad and Pu~lic Utilities Commissioner was present at this meeting to dis- CUSS! the mileage charge on the Ocoee Telephone Bills. The City Council stated they would like to have the mileage charge discontinued from the telephone bills and have a FrDnchise with the Florida Tel~phone Corporation giving us 2 % franchise tax on the Gross Income in the City of Ocoee for the first 16 years of the Franchise and 3% the second 10 years and 4% the remainder of the Franchise. They also stated ir0~he Florida T~lephone Corp. would not agree tb these conditions they would like to know if it would be possible to have the FloridD Telepone Corp. service taken out of Ocoee and the Bell Telephbne Co. installed. I There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to Adjourn this meeting. Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. Thereupon Council ~dDourned at 4:00 P.M.
