The minutes of the last regular meeting held October 3, 1961 were read and approved. Councilman Marsden made a motion that the Council approve the following bills: Councilman Laird seconded the mOttion. Voted and carried. Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. Councilman Reid, Laird, Dodge and Marsden yotedcTES. No no's. Carried uaanimously. Councilman Reid made a motion to give Mr. James, Mr. Black and Mr. Campbell 30 days from October 17, 1961 to move their fences off City Property. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Council- men Reid, Dodge, Marsden and Laird ~oted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to have the Florida Power Corp. install 8,000 lumen vapor li~hts on Bluford Avenue from McKey St. to Fains Corner.. Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Dodge, Reid and Laird voted YES. No no's Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to have 8,000 lumen vappr li~hts on South Bluford Avenue to South City Limits. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Councilmen Laird, ~~rsden, Reid and Dod~e voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. 1 installed Councilman Reid made a motion to have a 8,000 lumen vapor street li~ht installed at the Lake Drive Trailer Park. Councilman Laird seconed the motion. Councilmen Laird, Marsden, Reid and Dod~e voted YES. No no's. Carried uaanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to have 8,000 lumen vapor street li~hts installed at the cormer o~ Lake.ood Avenue and McKey Street, at the corner of Lake wood Avenue and Ma~nolia Street, at the dorner of Lakewood Avenue and Lafayette St. and on the Winter Garden Road to the City Limits. Councilman Reid seconded the motion. Council- men Reid, Marsden, Laird and Dod~e ~eted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. , Councilman Marsden made a motion to write Richey Green of the State Road Department to see what the status is on the road to be built from Highway 50 to Ocoee to connect with State Road #437, sendin~ I a copy to Max Brewer and A~.D. Mims, also what is the latest development on the drainage ditch to Lake Apopka. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Laird, Dodge and Reid voted YES., No no's. Carried unanimously. . . Councilman Marsden made a motion to offer. Mr. E. T. R~msey $300.00 for Lot 1, Block E, Lakeview 3rd Addition. Councilman Dod~e seconded the motion. Councilman Reid, Dodge, Marsden and Laird voted YES. No no!s. Carri~d unanimously. . . Councilman Marsden made a motion to contact y~. C. C. Remusat to Bee what he will take for Lot S, Block E, Lakeview 3rd Addition. Council- man seconed the motion. Councilmen Laird, Reid, Dodge and Marsden voted YES. No no's. Carried uaanimously. Councilman Marsden made to motion to have our City Attorney Spencer C. Cross contact Mr. Bill Weaks of the Florida R~ilroad of Public Utilities about. the milea~e char~e on the telephone bills in Ocoee. Councilman Dod~e seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Dodge, Reid and Laird voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Dod~e made a motion to let the Lions Club ceil the Lions Hall and the City ~uld reimburse them at such time the City needs the bUilding. Councilman Laird. aeconded the motion. Councilmen Laird, Reid and. Marsden and Dodge voted YES. No no's. Carried I unanimously. Councilman Reid. made a motion to reimburse the firemen's expenses to the Ocala Fire Colle~e. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Reid~ Marsden, Dodge and Laird. voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to ~et bids on two metal doors for fhe Fire Department installed. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Councilmen Laird, Marsden, Reid and Dodge voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. . . . Councilman Reid made a motion for the City of Ocoee to donate $25.00 to the Q@9~~ High School for the annual. Councilman Dodge seconded the motion. Councilmen Ref~, Dodge, Marsden and Laird voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. 1 1 1 Councilman Reid amde a motion to raise building permits from $5.00 to $25.00 on new houses and ~ive $20.00 to the Ocoee Recreation(and Youth Center. Councilman Dod~e seconded the motion. Councilmen Reid, Laird, Dod~e and Marsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made amotion that the Mayor be authorized to execute the lease dated October 9, 1961 between the City of Ocoee and the Bank of West Oran~e. Councilman Reid se conded .the motion. Councilmen Reid, Laird, Marsden and Dodge voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. There bein~ no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 10:25 P.M. Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at 12:10 P.M. Councilman Reid made a motion to discontinue all work on the City Barn bein~ built in Lakeview 3rd Addition, until somethin~ satis- factory can be worked out between the Council and the property owners in that area. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Reid, Marsden, Dodge and Laird voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. There bein~ no further business Councilman Reid made a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 12:35 P.M. The purpose of the meeting was to go through the registration books to mark off people who have either moved or died. Councilman Marsden made a motion to buy Mr. E. T. Ramsey's lot, 1 Block E, Lakeview 3rd Addition for $300.80. Councilman Reid seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Reid, and Laird voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Reid made and the balance when man Marsden seconded voted YES. No no's. a motion to give Mr. Ramsey a binder of $50.00 our attorney has gone over his abstract. Council- the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Reid, and Laird Carried ananimously. Councilman Laird took char~e of the meeting in the absence of Councilman Freeman. Councilman Marsden asked permisRion of the City Council to pur- chase pipe to install a 6~inch. water:: line 'from Delaware to south city limits. Councilman Reid made a motion to buy 2,057 feet of 6 inch pipe to be installed on South Bluford Avenue from Delaware Street to the South City Limits. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Reid and Marsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Reid seconded the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 7:00 P.M. 1 ~)st: :~a/l~~/~a /n("&~ Clerk ~~L~~~ si ent of Council MINUTES OF THE~ECIAL MEETING HELD OCTOBER 30, 1961 Present: Councilmen: Freeman, Marsden, Reid and Laird Absent: Councilman Dod~e and Mayor Minor Meeting was called to order by Councilman Freeman at 12:15 B.M. - Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #418 bein~ an ordinance ascertaing the amount necessary to operate the City of Ocoee, Florida for the fiscal year beginnin~ November 1st, 1961 and ending October 31, 1962. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. 1 Councilmen Laird, Marsden and Rpid voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. - Councilman Laird made a motion to adopt Ordinance #419 an ordinance of the City of Ocoee fixing the rate of taxation for the City of Ocoee Florida, for the fiscal year beginninp November 1st, 1961 and endin~ October 31st, 1962. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Council- man Marsden, Laird and Reid voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #420 bein~ an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida levying a tax upon taxable property within the City of Ocoee, Florida, for the fixcal year beginn- in~ November 1st, 19'1 and ending October 31st, 1962. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Laird and Reid voted YES! No nR's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Laird made a motion to adopt'Ordinance #421 bein~ an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida appropriating and alloc- atin~ the revenue of the City of Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1961 and endin~ October 31st, 1962. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Reid, and Uaird voted YES. No no's. Carried unanmously. There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Laird seconded the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 12:25 P.M.
