Kinutes of the last regqlar meeting held September 18, 1962 were read and approved. I Councilman I:Iarsden made a motion to pay the following bills. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. I Councilman Harsden made a motion to give I-Ir. George 'Ilalker, of the Alberta Crate and Box Co. permission, on the Mayor's reccommendation, to shoot the piguons in his warehouse with rat shot. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Council- men, Freeman and r~rsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Freeman made a motion for the Mayor, Raymond G. Howell and City Clerk to make arr8~gements for the City to borrow the money from the Bank 'of ~vest to build a con- tinuation of the Silver Star Road by the Bank and the Shopping Center. Councilman I.Iarsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and Marsden voted YES. Councilman \1ilson voted. NO. Councilman Reid, absent at the time, stated at another Council meeting that he '/las in favDr of the City building the street. Councilman Freeman asked the people present what their opinion was of the City building the street. Out of the 10 present 8 \^laS in favor, one did not understand the si tll2.tion and one made no comment. Councilman },larsden made a motion to get a bid from Apex Contracting Co. on building a soil cement street by the Bank and Shopping Center, a continuation of the Silver St<..:.r Road. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and ~~rsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to get bids on a double surface treatment on Taylor Street between Franklin St. and Silver Star Road. Councilman Freeman seconaed the motion. Councilmen Marsden and Freeman voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. I Councilman FreemD.n made a motion to cash Hit tie Howards check for her occupe.tional license for 1962. Councilman I'.'larsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and ~larsden voted YES. No no's. Carried uJ:1animously. Councilman Freeman made a motion to accept the Street Dept.budget of $30,000.00. Councilman T~arsden seconded the motion. Council- men Freeman and I.:arsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilm~'n narsden made a motion to accept the Sanitation Dept budget of 013,300.00. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Councilmen Narsden and Freem2n voted YES. l'To no's. Councilman Karsden and Freeman voted YES No no's. Carried unani- mously. Councilman Freeman made a motion to accept the 'ilater department budget of $40,005.40. Councilman t~rsden seonded the motion. Councilmen Freeman t~rsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. I Councilman I,Iarsden made a motion to accept the Legal and Auditing budget of $800.00. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Council men Freeman and Earsden voted YES. ?To no's. Carried unanimous.ly. Councilman Freeman made a motion to accept the Office Expense budget of ;~a, 600.00. Councilman l'Iarsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and I';Iarsden voted YES. I\Jo no's. Carried unanimouiLy. Councilman Karsden made a motion to accept the Telephone budget of C400.00. No no's. carried unanimously. Councilman IIarsden made a notion to <lccepts the Clerks Salary of i~3 ,600.00. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and Mansden voted'YES. No no's.. Carried unanimously. I Councilman Freeman ~<lde a motion to accept the Lights and Power budget of 08,500.00. Councilman l~rsden seconded the motion. Councilman Freeman and }~rsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. Councilman ~~rsden made a motion to accept of C4,000.00. Councilman Freeman seconded Freeman and l'~rsden voted YES. Hartle Downess appeared before the Council and requested that the City of Ocoee annex his property, description as fol10vls: ]IICKEYS SUBDIVISION BOOK G, PAGE 69 - Lots 1 to 10, Block A. Lots 5 to 7 & 12 to 16 & S 11.3 feet of Lots 4 & 11 and that part of vacated street lying E of said Lots and vacated street lying N of Lots 1 & g and Lots 17 & 18 & vacated street on E Block B. to the Corporate limits at the City's earliest convenience. Councilman Harsden pursuant to the request of VJr. Hartle Sowness, made a motion that City Council direct City attorney to take \'lhatever necessary proceeding applicable to annex FJr. Bovmess' property. Councilman Freecan seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and Harsden voted YES. No no's. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Freeman made a r::otion that Council ndjourn this meeting. Councilman r:~arsden seconded the motion.. Thereupon Council adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
