MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
OCTOBER 16, 1962
Present: Councilman: Freeman, Marsden, Reid and Dodge (A Quorum)

Absent: Councilman: Wilson

The meeting was called to order by Co~ilman Reid at 8:00 P.M.
The m~nutes of the last regular meeting held October 2, 1962
and the special meeting held Ocyoner 8, 1962 were read and
approved.
Councilman Marsden made a motion that Council approve the
following bills. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion.
Voted and carried.

~ouncilman Freeman made a motion to table the discussion of Mr.
Joe Thomas' trailor until Councilmen Dodge and Wilson were present.
Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and
Marsden voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to write Mr. Harold Martin a
letter informing 'him that he does not have to move his fence as
we received a letter from C. W. West, Surveyor, certifying that
his fence is within his line. Councilman Marsden seconded the
motion. Councilmen Freeman and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to pay Spencer C. Cross, Attorney
$500.00 for legal expense. Councilman Freeman seconded the motion.
Councilmen Freeman and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously.

At this time Councilman Dodge came to the meeting.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 428 being
an ordinance ascertaining the amount necessary to operate the City
of Ocoee, Florida for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1962
and ending October 31st, 1963. Councilman Freeman seconded the
motion. Councilmen Freeman, Marsden, and Dodge voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 429 being
an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida fixing the rate of
taxation for the City of Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning
November 1st, 1962 and ending October 31st, 1963. Councilman Freeman
seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman, Marsden and Dodge voted
YES. No NO's/ Carried unanimously.
Councilman Freeman made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 430 being an 0 I
ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida levying a tax upon
taxable property within the City of Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal
year beginning November 1st, 1962 and ending October 31st, 1963.
Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman, Dodge
and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Dodge made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 431 being
an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida appropriating and allo-
cating the revenue of the City of Ocoee, Flaida, for the fiscal
year beginning November 1st, 196~ and ending October 31st, 1963.
Councilman Freeman seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman, Marsden
and Dodge voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further bisiness Councilman Marsden made a motion to
recess this meeting. Conncilman Freeman seconded the motion. There-
upon Council recessed at 9:05 P.M.

OCTOBER 17, 1962

Present: Councilmen: Freeman, Marsden and Reid and Mayor Howell
(Aquorum)
Absent:
Cpuncilmen: Wilson and Dodge
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at 6:05 P.M.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to give the bid .for paving the
street by the shopping center, a continuation of the Silver Star
Road from the Apopka Highway to the Winter Garden Road. The bid
was $14,895.00 for a soil cement street. Councilman Freeman seconded
the motion. Councilmen Freeman and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.

Councilman Freeman made a motion to assess each property owner on
this new street $4.60 a foot per linear foot. Councilman Marsden
seconded the motion. Councilmen Freeman and Marsden voted YES. NO
NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Freeman made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman seconded the motion. There-
upon Council adjourned at 6:55 P.M.
