HINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
MAY 2:l.,1963
Present: Councilmen: Marsden, Pounds, Holland, Haze11ief and Reid
Mayor Howell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at 8:00 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held ~~y 7, 1963 were
read and approved.
Councilman Marsden made a motion that Council approve the
following bills. Councilman Eazellief seconded the motion.

Councilman Hazellief made a motion, on the Mayor's reccomen-
dation to let Nathan Reerepait the outside of the City Hall.
Councilman IvIarsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Hazellief,
Marsden, Holland and Pounds voted YES. No no's. Carrried
unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to accept the proposal for
new opening from County Ovmed First Street running North
through Ocoee Hills to Flewelling Avenue and closing and
abandoning Reba Avenue from the now existing Apricot Drive
South three blocks. Said streets ,being located in the
Northeast muarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 17,
Township 22 South, Range 28 East. Councilman lf~rsden
seconded the motion. Councilmen Holland, r,1arsden, Pourids,
and Hazel1ief voted YES. No NOTls. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Pounds made a motion to set up in the budg~for
the coming fiscal year, 1963-64 $200.00 to be used in mailing
brochures and advance the Ocoee Chamber of Commerce $100.00
now. Councilman Hazellief seconded the motion. Councilmen
Pounds, Hazellief, Marsden and Holland voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to close North Lee Street
from Lyman Street East to N. Lakewodd Avenue and the rights-
of-way to be equally divided to property owners on each
side. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen
Holland, Marsden, Pounds and Hazellief voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to give the lf~yor authority
to contact ~rr. T. H. Van Devanter and work a solution with
him and see if he could be our assistant judge in the absence
of ~rr. Griffin. Councilman Holland seconded the motion.
Councilmen Holland, Pounds, Marsden and Hazellief voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Hazellief made a motion that each City employee
have one (1) day sick leave with pay each month provided
thay have a doctors certificate stating that they are sick.
Council~an Pounds seconded the md ion. Councilmen Pounds,
Hazellief, Holland and Marsden voted YES. No no's.
Carried unanimously.

Councilman Hazellief made a motinn to move the City's bend.
back on the sidewalk on McKey street. Councilman Pounds,
seconded the motion. Councilmen Hazellief, Pounds, Holland
and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman IIIarsden made
a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Holland seconded
the motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 11:40 P.M.
