MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
OCTOBER 1, 1963
Present: Councilmen: Holland, Marsden, Pounds, Hazellief and Reid.
Mayor':. Howell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at 8:00 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held September 17, 1963
and the special meeting held September 23, 1963 were read and
approved.
Councilman Marsden made a motion that Council approve the following
bills. Councilman Holland seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Councilman Hazellief made a motion to appoint Mayor R.
G. Howell to attend the meeting to be held in Winter Garden
with Mr. John R. Phillips, Chairman of the Florida Turnpike
Authority, pertaining to the Ocoee-Orlando Interchange on
the Sunshine State Parkway. Councilman Marsden seconded the
motion. Councilmen Holland, Hazellief, Marsden and Pounds
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to write Mr. John R. Phillips
a letter asking him not to make any change in the name of the
Orlando-Ocoee Interc~ange. Councilman Marsden seconded the
motion. Councilmen Pounds, Holland, Marsden and Hazellief
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Hazellief made a motion to set salaries for the
Councilmen at $25.00 per month and $50.00 per month for the
Mayor. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen
Hazellief, Pounds, Holland, and Marsden voted YES. Chairman
of Council, Councilman Reid asked that it be recorded in the
minutes that he was opposed to this motion.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to have the City Books audited at
the end of the fiscal year, October 31, 1963. Councilman Marsden
seconded the motion. Conncilmen Pounds, Marsden, Hazellmef, and
Holland voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously..
Councilman Pounds made a motion to authorize Florida Power Corp.
to install two street lights on Oalland Ave. 'between Bluford Ave.
and TAylor Street. Councilman Hazellief seconde'd.~the: lnotl-Ol1'..

No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman -Holland made a motion to submit a bid of $5,500.00 to "" I
West Orange Industries, Inc. for their well located at the corner
of Silver Star Road and Highway #437. Conncilman Hazellief
seconded the motion. Councilmen Holland, Hazellief ,&Marsden v6t'ed

Councilman ,Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #440, being
an Ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida, annexing a certain
tract of unincorporated Land lying contiguous to the Municipal
Boundaries of the City of Ocoee, and Situated in Orange County,
Florida to-Wit:
Begin 497.64 ft North of SW Cor of NW! of NWk run North
249.48 ft. East 1320 ft. South 249.48 ft. West 1320 ft.
Councilman Holland seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden,
Holland, Hazellief and Pounds voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously.
Councilman Holland made a motion to adopt Ordinance #441 being
an Ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida decaring the intention
of the City of Ocoee, Florida to annex a certain tract of unincor-
porated land lying contiguous to the Municipal Boundaries of the City
of Ocoee and situated in Orange County, Florida, To-Wit:
The existing Road Rights-of-Way from the North City Limit
of Ocoee via the Ocoee-Clarcona Road, Fullers Cross Road,
the East Crown Point Road and the Ocoee-Winter Garden Road
to the West City Limit of Ocoee, lying within 30 feet of
either side of a Center Line Survey described as follows:
Begin at a point on the Ocoee-Clarcona Road at the North
City Limit of Ocoee, said point being the Southeast Corner
of Section 7, Township 22 South, Range 28 East, run thence
North 00 24' East 2865.0 feet to the East Quarter Corner
of said Section, thence North 00 11' East, 2393.0 feet to the
Center Line of Fullers Cross Road, said point being the North-
east Corner of said:~Section, thence North 89! 46', West 2562.B
feet to the North Quarter Corner of said Section, thence
South 890 44' West 768.8 feet to the Center Line of State
Road No. 437, thence South 890 26' West 1124.8 feet to the
beginning of a curve concave to the Southerly and having a

Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Holland,
Pounds and Hazellief voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councllman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #442 being an
Ordinance ascertaining the amount necessary to operate the City
of Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning November 1st,
19b3 and ending October 31st, 1'1b4. Councilman Holland seconded
the motlon. Councilmen Marsden, Holland, Hazellief and Pounds
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Holland made a motion to adopt Ordinance #443 being
an ordinance fixing the rate of taxation for the City of Ocoee,
Florida, for the Fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1963 and ending
October 31st, 1963. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Counci-
men Pounds, Holland, Hazellief and Marsden voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to'adopt Ordinance #444 being
an ordinance levying a tax upon taxable property within the City of
Ocoee, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1963
and ending October 31st, 1964. Councilman Pounds seconded the
motion. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Holland and Hazellief voted
YES. lNo NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt Ordinance #445 being an
Ordinance appropriating and allocating the Revenue of the City of
Ocoee., Florida, for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1963,
and ending October 31st, 1964. Councilman Hazellief seconded the
motion. Councilmen Marsden, Hazellief, Pounds and Holland voted
YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Marsden made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. There-
upon Council adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
