MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
NOVEMBER 5, 1963
Present: Councilmen: Marsden, Pounds, Holland, Hazellief and Reid
Mayor Howell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at 7:45 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held October 15, 1963
were read and approved.
Councilman Marsden made a motion that Council approve the following
bills. Councilman Holland seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Councilman Pounds made a motion to accept the counting of the
election borad for the regular City election held November 5,
1963 and read by the Clerk of the Election Board to elect two
Councilmen for the term of two years and a Mayor for the term
of two years. The total number of votes were '621 votes which
were as follows: For Mayor, Pat Broadaway 302, Raymond G. I
Howell 311. For Councilman Group 1 - Sam Holland 277, E. P.
Miller 317. For Councilman Group II - Wm. T. Bracewell, Jr.
336, ~~rvin L. Hazellief 257, Making the highest number of votes
for Raymond G. Howell for Mayor, E. P. Miller for Councilman
in Group I, William T. Bracewell, Jr. for Councilman Group II.
Mayor Raymond G. Howell: is duly elected for Mayor for two years.
Councilmen E. P. Miller and Wm. T. Bracwell, Jr. is duly elected
as Councilmen for two years. Councilman Holland seconded the
motion. Councilmen Pounds, Holland, Hazellief and ~mrsden
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden made a motion to adopt ordinance #447 being
an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida, annexing a certain
tract of unincorporated land qing contiguous to the municipal
boundaries of the City of Ocoee and'situated in Orange County,
Florida, to-wit:
Lots 1 through 10, both inclusive, of Block "A", Hickey's
Subdivision, and Lots 1 through 16, both inclusive, of Block
"B", Hickey's Subdivision, according to plat thereof as re-
corded in Plat Book "G", page 169, Public Records of Orange
County, Florida.
Councilman Holland seconded the motion. Councilmen Holland, Marsden,
Hazellief and Pounds voted YES. No no's. Carried una~imously.

Councilman Holland made a motion, due to the sentiment of the
people concerning the well, to withdraw the City's bid of $5,500.00
for the well and also disconnect from the well. Councilman
Hazellief seconded the motion. Councilmen Holland, Hazellief and
l~rsden voted YES. Councilman Pounds refrained from voting.
Motion was carried.

Councilman Marsden made a motion to give each property owner 15~
per sq. ft. for the right-of-way taken off their property for the
extension of Silver Star Road and deduct it from their paving
assessment. Councilman Hazellief seconded the motion. Councilmen
Marsden, Hazellief and Holland voted rES. Councilman Pounds
refrained from voting. Motion was carried.
There being no further business Councilman Pounds made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion.
Therenpon Council adjourned at $:13 P.M.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL IV'lEETING HELD
NOVEMBER 6, 1963
Present: Counci~men: Pounds, Marsden, Reid, Miller and Bracewell
Mayor Howell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Howell at 12:35 P.M.
At this time Mayor Howell, who had been previously sworn in
by Judge Tucker,administered the Oath of Office to the newly
elected Councilmen Miller and Bracewell.
. The meeting was,. called for the purpose of electing a chairman
of the Council.
Since at this time the Council could not reach a decision for
a chairman of the Council the IV'~yor recessed the meeting at
1:15 P.M. until Thursday November 7, 1963 at $:00 P.M.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING HELD
NOV~1BER 7, 1963
Present: Councilmen: Pounds, Marsden, Reid, ~liller and Bracewell
Mayor Howell

Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by V~yor Howell, acting chairman,
for the purpose of appointing a Chairman of the Council at $:05 P.M.
When 14ayor Howell asked for nominations Councilman Marsden made a
motion to nominate Councilman Reid as Chairman of theCouncil.
Councilman Bracewell seconded the motion.
There being no. further nominations Councilman Bracewell made a
motion that nominations cease.
Upon voting for Councilman Reid, Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Vdller
and Bracewell voted YES. Councilman Reid refrained from voting.
Motion was carried.
At this time Conncilman Reid took over the conducting of the meeting,
and asked for nominations for vice-chairman.
Councilman ~arsden made a motion to nominate Councilman Pounds as
vice-chairman. Councilman Bracewell seconded the motion.
There being no further nominations Councilman Bracewell made a motion
that nominations cease.
Uponvotihg for Councilman Pounds, Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Miller
and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried. '
