Mayor Howell Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at $:00 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held November 19, 1963 were read and approved. Councilman Marsden made a motion that Council approve all the bills except the bill from Vann's Electric. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Voted and carried. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Bracewell, Pounds, Marsden and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. I Councilman Pounds made a motion to instruct the City Attorney to write for the necessary forms to get a federal loan for a feasibility report for a sewer system. Councilman V~rsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, Bracewell and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to give Bowness Service Station the bid for the City gas at 24.4i per gallon to be put in the city vehicles at Bowness Service Station. Councilman ~liller'seoonded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Miller, Pounds amd Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. I, Councilman Miller made a motion to adopt Ordinance #448 being an ~ ordinance of the City of Ocoee repealing Ordinance #446. Motion. died for lack of a second. 1~ Councilman Pounds made a motion to retain James T. Vandergrift as Firechief at $25.00 per montb. Councilman lf~rsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman V~rsden made a motion to retain J. I. Jernigan, Otis Hensley and Will Gray on the Santitation Department with a $5.00 a week raise. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Bracewell and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. I Councilman Reid denounced his pay of $25.00 per month and asked that it be given to the Chamber of Commeree, Youth Center and Little League. Councilman Miller made a motion to retain George Harper, Bennie Oliver, Melvin Smith, H. C. Wade and Roy Richards on the Street' Department with a $).00 a week raise. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Miller, Pounds, ~~rsden and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Bracewell made a motion to retain Sam Oliver and O. G. Smith on the Water D~pt. at the same rate of pay. Councilman ~tiller seconded the motion. Councilmen Bracewell, Miller, V~rsden and Pounds voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. . Councilman Marsden made a motion, on the Mayor's reccomendation, to retain Leroy Turner at $400.00 per month, Ray Enfinger at . $375.00 per month and William R. Hager at $350.00 per month on the Police Department and to hire another full time police- man. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden and Pdunds voted YES. Councilman Miler, Bracewell and Reid voted NO. Motion was not carried. Conncilman Pounds made a motion to rehire Leroy Turner, Ray Enfinger I and William R. Hager as policemen at the above mentioned wages. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, Bracewell and r~ller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unani- mously. Conncilman Miller made a motion to ratain Mr. Ben Griffin as City Judge at $75.00 per month. Conncilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Milier, Pounds, Marsden and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Miller made a motion to get bids for paving Bluford Avenue from McKey Street to Railroad. Conncilman Pounds seconded the motion Conncilmen ~liller, Pounds, Bracewell and ~~rsden voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to let our City Attorpey investigate I the matter of the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District installing gas lines on Highway 50 and deem what is necessary to stop the gas line. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Bracewell and Ydller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Ydller made a motion to give the city employees a turkey for Christmas. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Miller and Marsden, Bracewell and Rounds voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Pounds made a motion to recess this meeting. Councilman Bracewell seconded the motion. There- upon CoUncil recessed at 11:15 P.M.
