HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-05-1964 I~NUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD MAY 5, 1964 I Present: Councilmen: Marsden, Pounds, Vdller, Bracewell and Reid Mayor: Howell Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Councilman Reid at $:05 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held April 21, 1964 were read and approved. Councilman !~rsden made a motion that Council approve the following bills. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Miller, Marsden, Pounds, and Brace voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Pounds made a motion not to accept Sheet II of the proposed plat of Brentwood Subidvision without considering the Eastern extension of Apricot Drive. Councilman ~fursden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Pounds made a motion to award the bid for re-roofing the City Hall to ~furvin Sanders in the amount of $512.00. ,~ Councilman ~fursden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, ~tiller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman ~liller made a motion to adopt Ordinance #450 being an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, adopting by reference, any act which is or shall be recognized by the laws of the State of Florida as a misdemeanor; providing a penalty for violation. Councilman ~fursden seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, ~liller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Pounds made a motion to adopt Ordinance #451 being an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, declaring it unlawful for minors to have in their possession alcoholic beverages, and progibiting the selling, giving or serving of alcoholic eeverages to minors; providing a penalty for the violation thereof. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds, Marsden, ~liller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Miller made a motion to adopt Ordinance #452 being an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, declaring it unlawful to steal, take or carry away from an~her any money, goods or chattles and progibiting the buying, re- ceiving and concealing stolen property; providing a penalty for the violation thereof. Councilman Marsden seconded the motion. Councilmen ~liller, Marsden, Pounds and Bracew~ll voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman ~liller made a motion to pay Mr. Otis Phelps $4,000.00 on the paving of Bluford Avenue. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Marsden, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voged YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Marsden made a motion to write ~~. E. A. Murray a letter informing him that if his bill for the light behind the City Hall is not paid in 30 days the light will be removed. Councilman ~fursden seconded the motion. Councilmen ~mrsden, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Miller made a motion to payoff on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning. Councilmen Bracewell seconded the motion. Councilmen Bracewell, Miller and Reid voted YES. Councilmen Marsden and Pounds refrained from voting. Motion was carried. There being no further business Councilman ~fursden made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Councilman ~liller seconded the motion. Thereupon Council adjourned at 10:50 P.M. Attest: Clerk I I I
