MINUTES OF THE RAGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD
DECEMBER 15, 1964
Present: Councilwoman: Hager, Councilmen:

The meeting was called to oreder by Councilwoman Hager at $:10 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meering held December 1, 1964
and the recessed meeting held December 8, 1964 were read and
approved.
Mr. Benn Griffin appeared before the City Council on behalf of
Mr. A. H. Malcolm concerning the reaoning.of a piece of pr9perty
approximately 125' x 125', located on the Silver Star Road in
front of the Brentwood subdivision. Mr. Malcolm would like
this to be rezoned for a service station. Conncilmen Pounds,
Miller and Bracewell were appointed on a committee to invest-
igatethis matter.
Mr. R. M. Stockwell brought to the ~ttention of the City Council
the possibility of establishing a library in Ocoee. Councilman
Pounds and Mr.Stockwell were appointed to contact County
Commissioner Cliff Freeman about getting money from the County
for this project.
Councilman Bracewell reported that he was contacted by an
insurance company about hospitalization insurance for the City
employees. Each departme~ head was to canvass his~emploYees
to see if they were interested in insurace for themselves
and their families.
The Clerk was instructed by the Council to obtain bids for our
City Insurance which expires on January 10, 1965.
Councilwoman Hager was under the impression that the Ocoee Fire
Department would paint the Fire Station roof if the City would
buy the paint. Councilman Pounds was to get a bid from them.
Councilman Miller made a motion that the Coyncil approve the
following bills. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Voted
and carried.

Councilman Miller made a motion to leave the occupationsl license
as they are now until 1965. Councilman Pounds econded the
motion. Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted
YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Bracewell made a motion to hire James McWaters tem-
porarily on the garbage truck at $1.25 per hour. Councilman"-
Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Brace-
well, &:.Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Bracewell made a motion to write the Glace Engineers
and tell them that the City is no longer interested in the sewer
system plan presented by them to the City of Ocoee. Councilman
Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, ~liller
and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Miller made a motion to give each City Employee $10.00
for a Christmas present. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion.
Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, ~tiller and Bracewell voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Bracewell made a motion to take the money for the
employees Christmas presents out of the Emergency Fund. Council-
man Pounds seconded the motion Councilmen Patterson, Pounds,
Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to hire a 4th full-time policeman.
Councilman Patterson seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson,
Pounds, and Miller voted YES. Councilman Bracewell refrained
from voting. Motion was carried.
There being no further business Councilman Miller made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds eeconded the motion.
Thereupon Council adjourned at 11: 10 P.M.-

DECEMBER 26, 1964
Present: Councilwoman: Hager, Councilmen Pounds and Patterson
Nayor Hm'lell
Absent: Councilmen Bracewell and ~liller
The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at 12:18 P.M.
The purpose of the meeting was to hire a 4th full time policeman.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to hire ~rr. John Horn, on ~he
Mayor's recommendation, as 4th full-time policeman. Councilman
Patterson seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds and Patterson
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Pounds made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Patterson seconded the motion
Thereupon Council adjourned at 12:25 P.M.

JANUARY 2, 1965
Present: Councilwoman Hager, Councilmen Pounds, Patterson,
Mayor: HRwell Miller & Bracewell
Absent: None
The meeting vias called to order by Councilwoman Hager at 12.: 10 P .1<L
The purpose of the meeting was to discusss rezoning the property
lying West of Kissirnmee Avenue and North of Story Road.
Councilman Patterson made a motion to write a letter to the Orange
County Planning and Zoning Board approveing the rezoning of the
property lying West of Kissimmee Avenue and North of Story Road,
240 acres, according to the Orange County Zoning Code in accora-
ance with ~rr. Frank Roper's request. Councilman Pounds seconded
the motion. Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Miller made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion.
Thereupon Council adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
