MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORID~ HELD

The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at $:05 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held December 15, 1964
and the special meeting held December 26, 1964 and~the special
meeting held January 2, 1965 were read and approved.
Councilman Miller made a motion that Council approve the following
bills. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Insurance bids were opened from the following Insurance Agencies:
W. H. Wurst Agency - $2,334.47
Gregory Insurance Agency - $2,36$.$9
Hughes Insurance Agency - $2,743.94
Councilman Patterson made a motion to accept the lowest insurance
bid from VI. H. Wurst Agency in the amount of $2,334.47. Council-
man Bracewell seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds,
Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Bracewell made a motion to increase Mid-State Hauling
Co., Inc. garbage service to $10.00. Councilman Patterson
seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and
Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilwoman Hager corrected her statement concerning painting
the roof of the fire station. She misunderstood the Chief of
the Fire Department to say the Fire Department would paint the roof
if the City would buy the paint., but he was referring to the
building not the roof.
Councilman Miller made a motion to authorize Councilman Pounds
to purchase the paint for painting the roof of the fire station
and hire someone to paint it. Councilman Patterson, seconded .
the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
After discussing the 5 Cemetery lots purchased by Arthur Smith
in 1961, it was decided that we tell him that he will have to pay
for the lot already used and then he will have an option to I
purchase the additional ones adjoining it.
The Clerk was instructed to call Harold Maguire and inform him
that if the brick he punchased from the City are not paid for
in the near future the bill will be turned over to our City
Attorney for Collection.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to reassess William G. Lolley's
property taxes to $1,500.00 instead 6f~$2,500.00. Councilman
Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds,
Miller and Bracewell seconded the motion. Voted and carried
unanimously.
Councilman Patterson suggested that the F.B.I. be contacted
to see if they will help us in stopping the people from tearing
up the empty houses in Peach Lake Manor.
Bids were accepted from the following Paving Companies for
paving streets in Ocoee:
Orlando Paving Co. - $1.61 per ft 68~ per sq. yd.
American Paving Co. - 61~ per sq. yd.
Otis Phelps Paving Co. - $1.30 per ft. 59~ per sq. yd.
Councilman Pounds made a motion to authorize Councilman ~liller
to resurface the following streets: Orange Avenue, Center
Street, Russell Drive, Jay Street, Cardinal Street and Fle-
welling Avenue. Councilman Patterson seconded the motion.
Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted
YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Miller made a motion to accept the bid from Otis
Phelps Paving Co. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion.
Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell yoted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.

Councilman Pounds ;made a motion that the Chairman check to see
how much the clerk drew during last year and report to the Council
at the next meeting. Councilman Patterson seconded the motion.
Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Councilman Bracewell made a
motion to a~journ this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded
the motion. Thereupon Council adjourned at 11:30 P.M.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD JANUARY 14, 1965.
Present: Councilmen: Pounds, Patterson, Miller and Council-
woman Hager and Mayor Howell.
Absent: Councilman Bracewell
The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at
8:10 P.N.
The purpose of the meeting was for the County Engineers to
discuss with the Council the feasibility of extending the
County Sewer System into Ocoee.
There being no further business Councilman Miller made a
motion to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded
the motion. Thereupon Council adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
