HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-19-1965 rUNUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD J~NUARY 19, 1965 Present: Councilwoman Hager, Councilmen: Pounds, Patterson Mayor: Howell Ttiller & Bracewell Absent: None I The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at 8:10 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held January 5, 1965 and the special meeting held January 14, 1965 were read and approved. Howell was authorized by the Council to purchase ~uitatle heat for the City Jail. Councilman Pounds made a motion to have the Clerk write a letter to the Fresh Fish and Game Commission asking to have Starke Lake, Lake Olympia and Lake Primavista stocked with s~ped bass. Councilman ~liller seconded the motion. Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Pounds was appointed to get a sign for the Cemetery to be placed at the Cemetery entrance on South Bluford. Councilman Pounds made a motion to retire $5,000.00 of Ocoee Refunding Bonds. Councilman Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. I Councilman Miller was appointed to contact ~tr. Dollar of the State Road Department to see if they will fix the portion of Bluford ~venue in front W. H.Wurst Insurance ~gency. Councilman Miller made a motion that when a purchase is made for each department a purchase order will have to be signed by the department head. Councilman Bracewell seconded the motion. Councilman Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanmously. Councilman Patterson made a motion to purchase 24 water meters to replace the ones out of working order. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Pounds made a motion to permit the Clerk to sell automobile tags in the City Hall. Councilman Patterson seconded the motion. Coundlmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Bracewell made a motion to write Jack Marsden and Delma Fields and tell them they will no longer be pennitted to use the City Tags on their jeeps, and if they wish to sell them the City will offer them $150.00 for the jeeps. Councilman Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. ~pplication was made to the City Council for a permit to build a two-story apartment house on South Lakewhore Drive. The Clerk was instructed to contact the property owners within 600 feet of this property to see if they have any objections. I Councilman Bracewell made a motion to set up an agenda for Council meetings. ~ll items to be brought up at City Council meeting must be brought ot the City Hall by 12:00 P.M. Noon Monday before each Council meeting to be held on Tuesday night. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion; Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, lfuller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Patterson made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds sec= onded the motion. Thereupon Council adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
