The Bvlaws of the Ocoee Youth Advisory Council
Section I
. The council must be of seven members, one clerk, and one Sergeant-at-Arms.
. There will be a maximum of five topics per agenda and, if time is granted, the
public may voice their opinions and topics.
= Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from the hours of
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (18:30-20:00 hours).
. Per each meeting, there must be a minimum of five chairs and the Sergeant-
at-Arms must be present along with the Clerk, unless extreme circumstances
are present.
. All voting from the council will be based upon a majority vote of 517 or, when
the chairs are absent, 3/5 or 4/6 majority vote will be used in place of those
absent.
Section n
. While the meeting is in session, the Speaker of the Council will maintain
Quonun within the room.
. No council member shall be absent from any meetings unless notified ahead
of time.
It The Speaker of the Council also may give a maximum. of one referral, per
meetIng, per member, as deemed necessary by aD. three parties of the Clerk,
Sergeant-at-Arms, and Speaker of the Council, to any council member who is
out of order and may he escorted hy the Sergeant-at-Arms out of the Building.
~ H a council member does not attend a meeting without notice, then he/she
will receive a referral
. H a council member receives two or more referrals, then they will go under
review by the Counell.
. H a council member Is deemed unfit to continue in th~u position, then. they
would be relieved of thei...r position md !epla~ement of then- position would be
appointed from the volunteers by the Counell.
Section m .
. The Sergeant-at-Arms must be a personnel within the Junior Reserve Officer
Training Corps OROTC} holding any officc!' 01' lcadership positions and must

by the Senior AerOspatt Instructor (SASI) of the Junior Reserve Officer
Training Corps.

did not win the elections.

. In order to be eligible to vote, a voter must be a resident of the City of Ocoee
and between the ages of 14 through 17.
. In order to run for a chair, the candidates must be between the ages of 15
through 17, must have a minimum of a 2.9 GP A, must have passed the
Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, and must have a letter of
t-,.:;:umm.endation from anyone from the age of 21 and up (except family
relatives).
. The position of Speake. ,-,f the C,-,uii.:H will he appointed by decision of both
the previous Speak~!' ~J 11.~ C\)!.!!l'.:ll.
GI Each council member will have a term that will run for one calendar year.
. Elections will be held on the third Tuesday of the month of December.
. Inauguration will be held on the second Tuesday of January.
. If the Speaker of the Councllls In a Student Government officer position at
School, he/she illU5t resign from that position immediately after receiving the
chair of Speaker of the Council
Section IV

. The Speaker of the House win be tlle liason of the c.o\mc,il to the City
Commission.
Section V
. The Council will also allow for volunteers, who want to voice their opinions

MccLiligs for the volunteers will not be directly p-'art of the council but mainly
