''"\..., d City Manager: Robert .~~'-~~ ~ Subject: Most Valuable Partnership Grants Background Summary: The Most Valuable Partnership Grants Program has been in operation for several years. The grant program assists Ocoee neighborhoods and organizations with projects that will enhance property values and improve the quality of life in Ocoee. The MVP grant program is a matching grant program held once each year. The maximum matching grant award is $2,500. Funding is not given up front, but is reimbursed at the completion of the organization's project. Applicants fund their improvement projects and then get a portion back, up to a maximum of $2,500. Eight applications were received for this year's cycle. The total amount of grant monies requested is $18,400. There is $20,000 funded for this year's MVP grant program. Issue: Should the City Commission approve the eight applications? Recommendations: Adequate funding is available for the MVP grant applications. Staff respectfully recommends funding all eight grant projects upon completion of the work and submission of the proper paperwork. Below is a summary of the MVP applications received: 1. Admiral Pointe Install red bricks around entry island Amount requested: $1,900 2. The Hammocks Add bases to carriage lamp street posts Amount requested: $2,500 3. lake Olympia Club Homeowners Association Replant/mulch median landscaping; refurbish neighborhood entrance wall Amount requested: $2,500 .. .. 4. Ocoee High School Aquatics Team Pool heaters for water polo facility Amount requested: $2,500 5. Prima Vista Neighborhood Watch Refurbish west wall of neighborhood entrance Amount requested: $2,500 6. Rotary Club of Ocoee Scholarships for Ocoee High School students Amount requested: $1,500 7. Sleepy Harbor Homeowners Association Repair iron fence, tables and pavilion, community dock Amount requested: $2,500 8.
