Background Summary: In conjunction with the construction of the Utilities Administration Building, a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Sanitary Dump Station and a commercial reclaim water fill station were installed. The stations will be available during normal operating hours and by appointment when operators are at the plant. Upon approval and/or modification/approval based on the below recommendation, the facilities will be put into use. Staff will distribute public notification and send a mailer to local RV owners and to commercial entities that may use the fill station. Staff is recommending the startup rates for dumping be free for City residents and $5.00 for others, and $5.00 for filling a tank up to 10,000 gallons. Based on usage experience, staff will be coming back in June for updated fees. Staff will give a short PowerPoint presentation of the facilities. Issue: Should City Commission approve temporary conditions for the placement of the City's RV Dump Station and Commercial Reclaim Fill Station in Operation? Recommendations Motion to authorize City Manager to place the RV Dump Station and Commercial Fill Station in service based on no charge to City residents until July 1, 2009, and a $5.00 fee for non-residents for dumping and a $5.00 fee to fill up to 10,000 gallons of reclaim water. Attachments: N/A Financial Impact: It is anticipated that the RV dumpinglfill will require no additional manpower and minimal maintenance under normal operation.
