MINUTES OF THE REGULAR I'f~ETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
AUGUST 17,1965
Present: Councilwoman Hager; Councilmen: Pounds, Patterson,Bracewell
Mayon: Howell
Absent: Councilman Miller
The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at 8:10 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held August 3, 1965 were
read and approved.

Councilman Pounds made a motion that Council approve the fol16w~ng
bills. Councilman Patterson seconded the motion, Voted and Carried.

Florida Traffic Signals, Inc. representative, ~~. Emory Daniels discussed
withi.the council the possibilities of the County installing and main- I
taining two traffic lights. Additional lights may be purchased by the
City for $4,250.00 and ana years maintainanceincluded or pay $500.00
a month for 5 years with maintainance included for the 5 years. Mr.
Daniels explained that permits are obtained by putting request on State
Road agenda for consideration. His is to contact each Councilman and expain
appropriate wording for request before next meeting.
Mr. Don Greer, Chairman of Industerial Planning Commission was present
and explained the purpose of Planning and Zoning Board. He-showed the
Councilmen a scale map of Ocoee and vicinity, explaining that they will be
available to cities at cost about September. Mr. Greer offered to be of any
assistance possible in the future.
Reverend Crews of The Church Of God Of Prophecy asked that the City tile the
Franklin Street ditch in front of the new Church approxinately 150 feet.
Decission was tabled, Councilman Miller being absent.
~trs. Mary Henry made a complaint to the Council about muddy water appearing
from her faucets without warning ruining numerous articles of clothing.
Sam Oliver atated that the situation might be corrected by connecting
dead end pipe with an adjoining pipe in the vicinity.
Councilman Bracewell asked City Clerk to contact Bill Boone,secretary-
treasurer of the Ocoee Lions Club in regards to the Lions Club paying
light bill for Youth Center as agreed upon.
Councilman Bracewell stated that J.I. Jernigan having one week vacation
cmmming,wishes to receive his vacation pay and continue working that week.

Ouida Meeks asked that the speeding on Oakland Street be halted. Leroy
Turner is to investigate.
William Poeples spoke in behalf of the Ocoee Police Auxiliary tm protest
conditions, asking that the Auxiliary Policemen be allowed to carry firearms
Also wear Police uniforms. Mayon Howell recommended to Council to get
uniforms and that they carry firearms when on duty. Councilman Patterson
made a motion to pay Auxiliary oliceman $200.00 to byy uniforms. Councilman
Pounds seconded to motion. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Bnrccwe:l1. voted
YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. )." t, (f
City Clerk was instructed to make checkJto Police Reserve.
Councilman Pounds reported on City Hall sign.
There being no futher business Councilman Patterson made an motion to
adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Thereupon
Council adjourned at 10:55 P. M.
