MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD JANUARY 4, 1966 Present: Councilwoman Hager, Councilmen: Pounds, Patterson, Mayor Howell Miller & Bracewell Absent: None I The meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Hager at 8:05 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held December 21st, 1965 were r.ead and approved. Councilman Miller made a motion to approve the following bills. Councilman Miller made a motion to accept the City's insurance from Mr. Wurst in the amount of $2,352.47. Councilman Pounds seconded the rmdt~~n. Councilmen Patterson, Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Mayor Raymond G. Howell reported to theCouncil that the Scoutmaster of this area had discussed with him about letting the Boy Scouts ~ take part in and observe the duties of the d~fferent departments of the City for one day. Mayor Howell was appointed to have charge, of this matter~. Mayor Howell asked why social security was deducted from his salary from the City and no deductions were taken out of Spencer C. Cross' ~alary. Mr. Cross explained to the Mayor that he was only being paid a retainer fee and was not directly under the supervision of the City and that he was self-employed and was subject to have social security taken out of his salary. I Mayor Howell read the monthly report of the police department as submitted by Leroy Turner. A copy of the repDrt attached to the minutes. Councilman Bracewell reported that he had not received enough, bids for building the sidewalk on McKey Street and resurfacing the streets in Peach Lake Manor. This was postponed until more bids were obtained. Councilman Pounds reported that he was obtaining bids for doors for the fire station. Mrs. Bailey Daniels was present conserning the raise in the water bills on apartments and meters with more than one house connected to it. She was informed bhat some of the bills had been figured wrong and should be as follows: Any apartment witk- in a house will be charged $1.00 and any apartment with a sep- arate entrance or more than one house on a meter will be charged the minimum of $2.50. Councilman Bracewell presented to the Council a petition contain- ing 231 names of residents North of Ocoee along the C1arCona Road protesting being annexed into the City Limits of Ocoee. The annexation of this property has never been discussed by the City Council. I There being no further business Councilman Patterson made a motion to adjourn this meeting.
