Mayor Raymond G. Howell reported to theCouncil that the Scoutmaster
of this area had discussed with him about letting the Boy Scouts ~
take part in and observe the duties of the d~fferent departments
of the City for one day. Mayor Howell was appointed to have charge,
of this matter~.
Mayor Howell asked why social security was deducted from his salary
from the City and no deductions were taken out of Spencer C. Cross'
~alary. Mr. Cross explained to the Mayor that he was only being
paid a retainer fee and was not directly under the supervision of
the City and that he was self-employed and was subject to have
social security taken out of his salary.
I
Mayor Howell read the monthly report of the police department as
submitted by Leroy Turner. A copy of the repDrt attached to the
minutes.
Councilman Bracewell reported that he had not received enough,
bids for building the sidewalk on McKey Street and resurfacing
the streets in Peach Lake Manor. This was postponed until
more bids were obtained.
Councilman Pounds reported that he was obtaining bids for doors
for the fire station.
Mrs. Bailey Daniels was present conserning the raise in the
water bills on apartments and meters with more than one house
connected to it. She was informed bhat some of the bills had
been figured wrong and should be as follows: Any apartment witk-
in a house will be charged $1.00 and any apartment with a sep-
arate entrance or more than one house on a meter will be charged
the minimum of $2.50.
Councilman Bracewell presented to the Council a petition contain-
ing 231 names of residents North of Ocoee along the C1arCona Road
protesting being annexed into the City Limits of Ocoee. The
