IVIINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
MARCH 15, 1966
Present: Councilwoffian Hager, Councilmen, Patterson, Pounds,
r.1ayor Howell I"tiller & Bracewell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Pounds at 8:05 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held March 1, 1966 were read
and approved. Councilman Pounds presided over the meeting until
Councilwoman Hager arrived.
Councilman Patterson made a motion to pay all bills in order.
Councilman Miller seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

A letter was received from the Orange County Health Department
stating requirements of the health Department for gas chlorination
and auxiliary power on our water system. Councilman Patterson
was appointed to get, bids on an auxiliary power unit. The clerk
was instructed to wpite the Orange County Health Department in-
forming them we are getting information on the auxiliary unit.
Ronnie Crews of the United States of American Band i\ssociation
was present to ask help for his trip to and from Memphis Tenn.
He was asked to find out what the BanM Association was going to
contribute to his trip and appear at the next meeting.
The City Council agreed nO,t to discontinue any water customer's
garbage collection as our Ordinance states all water connections
be charged garbage collection.
Don Reynolds was present to discuss the Head Start Program which
is a r'ederal Financed Kindergarten for uncultured and under-
~rivileged children. He reported that it would cost approximately
~1,815.00 to put the Youth Center in condition to have the program
in this building. Councilman Patterson stated that we would be I
spending taxpayers money to do this and that we have to draw a
line between taxpayers and non taxpayers. Harold Woodley was
present and stated that the Lions Club, who have charge of the
Youth Center, had voted they were opposed to have the building
used for any other usefuan it is now being used.
Councilman Bracewell made a motion for the Clerk to purchase a~
copy of the Florida State Statubes passed in the 1966 Legislator.
Councilman Pounds seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson,
Pounds, ~tiller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously.
The Council discussed the problem of parking in the streets.
They decided to give out warning tickets rather than put up
signs.
Councilman Bracewell made a motion to adopt Ordinance #465 being
an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Orage County, Florida, adopting
by reference, all of the provisions of the rules and regulations
governing electrical wiring in Orange County, Floirda, as per re-
solution and revision of the Board of County Commissioners of Orange
Courcy, Florida effective as of April 1, 1965; providing for ad-
ministration and enforcement; prescribing penalties fer violation.
Councilman Patterson seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson,
Pounds, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimouSly.'1
The Clerk was instructed to inform all electricians of this
ordinance. '
Councilman Bracewell had information on a fogging machine. He had a
price of $420.00 for the machine and approximately $300.00 for
insectiside for the summer. No decision was made.

Councilman ~iller made a motion to pay the doctor bill for the
pri soner that was hu.rt while vwrking for the City. Eotion was
withdravm for lack of a second.

There being no further business Councilman Patterson made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Pounds seconded the motion.
Thereupon Council adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
