MINUTES OF THE RAGULAR ~~ETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE) FLORIDA HELD
OCTOBER 18, 19D6
Present: Councilwoman Hager; Councilmen: Pounds, Patterson,
Mayor Howell Miller & Bracewell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Pounds at 8:20 P.M.
and presided over the meeting until Councilwoman Hager arrived.
The minutes of the last regular meeting held October'6 1966 and
the recessed meeting held October 10, 1966 were read a~d approved.
Councilman Miller made a motion to pay all bills in order. Council-
man Pounds seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Mr. Bobby Sasser was present to present plans for a prop-
posed church to be built on Wurst Road. They left their
plans for the Council to inspect and be informed at a
later date of what additional information they would need
before mssuing them a permit.
Mr. Fields of West Orange Bui~ders, Inc., was present to dis-
cuss the possibility of erecting a fence along the Ocoee Hills
Road at the request of the adjoining property owners, who face the
back of Brentwood Heights Unit 3. They discussed either a fence
or a hedge. Mr. Fields was to discuss it with Mr. William O'Brien
and work out a solution.
Leroy Turner asked if the City was to bear the expense of the
bicycle course to be given bicycles riders in Ocoee. He was asked
to find out the cost and report back to the Council.
Mayor Howell reported on a brochure that the Ocoee Jay Cees were
printing and asked that the City buy an add for the brochure.
No action was taken.
Councilman Patterson opened bids on pipe to be installed to the
F.M.C. plant. 'they were: Johns-Manville - *5,723.00
, Hughes Supply - 5,743.00
Councilman Patterson made a motion to accept the lowest bid from
Johns-Mahville. Councilman Miller seconded tbe motion. Councilmen
Patterson, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously. ~

Councilwoman Hager,who took over the meeting at this time, reported
that she had been informed that the American Legion were selling
memberships to their clubs to non-members. Commander Strine re-
ported that membership keys were being sold to relatives and friends
of members, but they were all being called in except the ones of
the members and that no one was allowed to enter unless accompanied
by a member.
Councilman Patterson made a motion to pay the reserve policemen
that worked Labor Day $10.00 each, to be paid out of the recreation
fund. Councilman Bracewell seconded the motion. Councilmen Pounds,
Patterson, Miller and Bracewell voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously.
Mr. A. H. Malcom was present to discuss with the Council the
assessment on his property within the City. Councilman Brace-
well asked him about participating in paving the Ocoee Hills
Road and he said he would when his land on this road could
be utilized. He also asked permission to zone the property
in front of Brentwood for commercial, but there was no def-
inite dec~sion was made.

The Clerk was instructed to write Holloway Materials Corp.
about the fence they were to~ect around their concrete plant
and about painting the tank.
Councilman Patterson made a motion to buy an add in the bro-
chure to be printed by the Ocoee Jay Cees. Councilman Pounds
seconded the motion. Councilmen Patterson and Pounds voted
YES. Councilmen Miller and Bracewell were not present at
this time. Motion was carried.
There beipg no further business Councilman l~cunds made a motion
to regess this meeting. Councilman Patterson seconded the
motion. Thereupon Council recessed at 11:22 P.M.

money in the Street Department. Councilman Patterson seconded
the Motion. Councilmen Bracewell, Patterson, Pounds and M~~
voted YES. No NO'S. Carriedunanimously
