MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
FEBRUARY 7,1967
Present: Councilwoman Hager; Councilmen: Hamby, Reese, Miller
Mayor: Howell and Marsden
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Marsden at 7:05 P.M.
The minutes of the last re~ular meeting held January 17, 1967 were
read and approved.
Councilman Miller made a motion to pay all bills in order, Council-
man Reese seconded the motion. Voted and carried:

Mr. Louis Robbe was present with a proposal to the City of
Ocoee asking for permission to let the Ocoee JayCees complete
the unfinished building on Flewelling Avenue for a Youth
Center. Councilman Reese made a motion to give the JayCees
permission to have plans drawn up for finishing the building
and draw up by-laws between the City of Ocoee and the Ocoee
JayCees. Councilman Hamby seconded the motion. Councilmen
Hamby, Reese, Miller and Hager voted YES. NO NO'S. Carried
unanimously.
Wilmer Spicer was present to learn the decision of the Council
on issuing him a permit to erect a garage on his property.
He was to draw a more detailed plan to present to the Council I
of what he intends to build and the distance's from his.. pro-
perty lines.
Scotty Vandergrift presented a revised plan and prices for
the new light proposal for the Litt.le League Field, which
was app,roximately $3,500.00. Mr. Lee of the Florida Power
corporat~on stated that additional lights to bring the
present lighting system up to standard would cost approxi-
mately $2,000.00. Councilman Hager made a motion that the
City of Ocoee underwrite the renovation of the lighting
system of the Little League Field for a maximum of $1,000.00.
Councilman Hamby seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby,
Reese, Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unani-
mously.
The Mayor repcrted that July 22, 1967 would be proclaimed
BOYS RANCH DAY in Ocoee.
Florida Power Corporation was given Permission to determine
the necessary lights needed in Brentwood.
Councilman Reese made a motion to give W. J. Browder at 1107
Jamela Street permission to erect a fence on their property,
as long as they meet the required specifications. Councilman I
Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby, Reese, Miller
and Hager voted YES. NO NO"S. Carried unanimously.
Councilmna Reese made a motion to refund to the Southeastern
Tree Service the money paid the City for an occupational
license. Councilman Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen
Hamby, Miller and Reese voted YES. Councilwoman Hager voted
NO. Motion was carried.
Councilwoman Hager made a motion to hire.Ed Fields on the
Water Department at $80.00 per week. Councilman Hamby sec-
onded the motion. Councilwoman Hager and Councilman Hamby
voted YES. Councilmen Reese, Miller and Marsden voted NO.
Motion was not carried.
Councilwoman Hager reported that Robert Vereen wanted the
City to run a water line to their property on Ocoee Hills
Road. Permission was given providing they pay for the
material which will be approximagely $50.00.

The Council agreed that painters and contractors working \
on empty houses in Ocoee would have to put up a deposit .
of $5.00 to have wate~ turned on and minimum charge of $1.00 J
for .the fi~st 10 days plus 10i per day for allover 10 days. /

Councilman Miller made a ;motion to accept the lowest bid from
Otis Phelps Pairing. Counci.lman Reese seconded the mown.
Councilmen Hamby, Reese, Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Councilman Reese made a motion to hire Griffin & Hamlin as
City Attorney's at $100.00 per month retainer fee. Council-
man Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby, Reese,
Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Miller made a motion to accept the proposed
trailer park plat submitted tb the Council by Clifford
Freeman, subject to the Council's approval of the streets
and drainage. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Council-
men Hamby, Reese, Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously. .
There bein~ no further business Councilman Miller made a
motion to adjourn this meeting. C01lncilman Reese seconded
the motion. ~here 'upon Council adjourned at 9:45 P.M.

fhe Special meeting was called to order by Councilman Marsden
at 7:30 P.M.

Councilman Reese made a mbtion to hire Sam Oliver at his old
salary on the Water Department to replace Mr. Messer. Council-
man Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby, Reese,
and Miller voted YES. Councilwoman Hager refrained from
voting. Motion was carried.
Councilman Hamby made a motion to change the lunch hour fOD
the City Hall back to the old hours from 12:00 until 1:)0 P.M.
Councilman Miller seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby,
Reese, Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unani-
mously.
There being no further business Councilman Miller made a motion
to adjourn this meeting. Councilman Hager second~d the motion.
Thereupon Council adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
