HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-21-1967 I I I .~ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD FEBRUARY 21, 1967 Present: Councilwoman Hager, Councilmen: Marsden, Hamby, Reese Mayor Howell and Miller Absent: None The regular meeting was called to order by Councilman Marsden at 7:25 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held Feb- ruary 7, 1967 and the special meeting held February 9, 1967 were read and approved. Councilman Miller made a motion that Council approve all bills in order. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Voted and carried. B. Griffin was to get the necessary information to determine the City Limits between Ocoee and Winter Garden'.' The Council agreed that the Caruival coming to the Ocoee ShoPP~fig pay an occupational license of $25.00 as per our City Ordinance. _J A resolution was read from the Winter Garden Lions Club about locating Public Junior College in West Orange County. Councilman Miller made a motion that the City of Ocoee pass a resolution pertaining to this Junior College. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Councilmen Miller, Reese, Hamby and Hager voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimOl.B ly. Mr. Griffin, our attorney, discussed with the Council the possi- bility of have an airport in the anea of Ocoee, Winter Garden, and Apopka. The Mayor, Raymond G. Howell appointed a committee of Councilmen Hamby, Reese and Hager to work wibh the committees of Apopka and Winter Garden on this airport. Councilman Hamby made a motion to hire Mr. William Stinnett and Mr. Elmer Kerr to do the necessary wiring on the Fire Station, on a cost plus basis. Councilwoman Hager seconded the motion. Councilmen Hamby, Hager, Reese and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanlmously. I Councilwoman Hager was given permission to have a water faucet installed on each side of the little league field. Councilman Miller made a Notion to by a half page advertisement in the Ocoee High School ~nnual. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Councilmen Hager, Miller, Reese and Hamby voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Councilman Reese was given permission to fix the door to the City Hall. The Clerk was instructed to write Cliff Freeman asking:him if the County would pay for a traffic signal at thecorner of Silver Star Road and Bluford Avenue. Councilman Miller made a motion to'transfer $25,000.00 from the Interest and Sinking Fund and buy Certificates of Deposit. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. CouncilmEn Miller, Reese, I Hager and Hamby voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Councilman Miller made a motion to adjourn this meeting.
