MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORID~ HELD
MARCH 21, 1967
Present: Councilwoman Hager, Councilmen: Marsden, Hamby, Reese & Miller
Mayor Howell
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Marsden at 7:10 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting March 7, 1967 were read and
approved.
Councilman Hamby made a motion that Council approve the following
bills. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Councilman Miller reported that the streets had been repaved in
Peach Lake Manor.
Councilwoman Hager reported it looked favorable that we could
purchase the necessary land on Kissimmee Avenue to erect the
water tank on.
Councilman Hager made a motion for our City Attorney to draw
a resolution to get an airportin this area. Councilman Reese
seconded the motio~. Councilmen Hager, Reese, Miller and Hamby
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
A representative from-the Fresh Water and Game Commission has
sent a recommendation to Tallahassee to have all trout lines
removed from Starke Lake with the exeeption of the hours from
6 P.M. until 7 A.M.

Herb~rt Gillis, representing the American Legion, was present
to ~sk for tax exemptions on their building and for one-half the
exemption on the parking lot and the house they own. This was
tabled until our City attorney was present to discuss it with him.
Councilman Hamby asked the City to pay half the payment on the rescue
boat which is $650.00. The Council agreed to pay the balance if
the' Fire Department would have a spaghetti supper to help raise
some of the money.
Councilman Hamby was given permission to get bids on painting the
Fir'e Station. .
Councilman Reese reported that he had had an inquiry if the City
wo~ld sel~ the strip of land they WWD;description as follows: W
24 ft of Lot 12, Town of Ocoee. Th:i:s was tabled until our attorney
wa~ present.
Councilman Miller asked about the City taking a census of the City
and putting in on f City Limit signs~ No action was taken.

The Clerk was instructed to write the State Road Department
ask;ing the restrictions of erecting signs on the State Right-9f-way'.
Co~ncilman Hamby made a motion to hire Mrs. Jewel Stoutenburgh
as Citv Clerk. Counci]man Reese seconded the motion. Council-
man Re~se. Hamby, Miller and Hager voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
un~nimously.

Councilman Miller made a motion to give Barbara Hooks her vacation
paj. Councilman Reese seconded the motion. Councilmen Miller,
Re~se, Hager and Hamby voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
The Council agreed that the water connection for Mrs. Mattie
Farmers house on Franklin Street would be $100.00.
The Clerk was instructedto send a bill to Geiger-Jones for $600.00
FOR THE water connection at F. M. C. and send a duplicate bill to
F. M. C.
There being no further business Councilman Miller made a motion to

upon Council adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
