MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
SEPTEMBER 5, 1967
PRESENT:
Councilwoman Hager, Councilman Marsden, Hamby, Reese,
Miller and Mayor Howell.
ABSENT:
None
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Marsden at 7;09 P. M.
The minutes of last regular meeting held August 22nd were read and approved.
Councilman Miller made a motion to pay all bills in order. Councilman
Reese seconded the motion. Motion voted and carried.
Councilman Marsden suggested the City turn over the insurance policy
for Policemen and Firemen, under the new law to: W. H. Wurst Ins.
Agency. Council agreed.
Councilwoman Hager ask that Winter Garden, Clermont, Apopka, Maitland
and Winter Park be contacted as to their water and garbage rates.
A resident of Melva Avenue- came before the Council and asked that
approx. 600 ft of Melva Avenue be black-topped. Councilman Miller
stated they were working to that end.

Councilman

Councilman Reese notified the Council that he had rented the house on
recently aquired property for $70.00 per month.
Councilwoman Hager motioned that the City wire our Senators and Re-
presentatives to over-ride Governor Kirk's veto on bill #20$0. Councilman
Hamby seconded motion. No no's, Motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Marsden requested that Motorola Company be written regarding
discrepancy in their bid and statement for radios recently purchased
by city. He suggested that they send one of their representatives
and explain this discrepancy or send corrected invoice.
Councilman Reese brought a bill from the carpenter that helped him
install floor in house recently purchased by city. The bill was for
9!hrs at $3.50 per hour. Councilman Miller motioned city pay said bill.
Councilman Hamby seconded motion. No no's motion carried unanimously.
Councilwoman Hager brought before the Council a question the extra I
week paid Sam Oliver for his vacation. Council agreed that Mr. Oliver
was entitled to this pay, also, that any employee doing extra work
should be allowed time off or pay.
There being no further business, Councilwoman Hager motion meeting
adjourn, Councilman Hamby seconded. Therefore Council adjourned at
10:00 P. M.
