Reese, Hamby, Vandergrift and Vayor Minor ABSENT: None Purpose of meeting: rfeeting called by Mayor Minor to set up hour and wage scale for Firemen and dispatchers tableri frolT' last regular meeting. Councilwoman Ha~er motioned ",e adopt the proposed dispatcher and firemens hours and ware scale as proposed. with the exception of relief dispatchers. Wages proposed $1.50 per hour. WaGes to be paid $1.25 per hour. same to be effective irmnediately. Councilr:1an Hamby seconded motion. No No's. Motion carried. Nervin Lee frolT' Florida Power Corporation reported on Xmas Decorations for city streets. Fe stated that new receptacles and additional wiring was necessary and the cost should be around $400.00. However, Florida Power Corporation was donatinG this amount to the city. He asked that city employees help with assembling the fixtures. Council af3reed. He also. requested that in the future when additional decorations were ordered that a representative from Florida Power be present in order to eliminate extra materials and labor. rv:r. Ivurst from Wurst Insurance Co. suggested the city continue their insurance policy for colunteer firemen. This policy covers any 8 voilunteer firemen on dutJr. The :lew poliC3r for Police & Reserve Officers requested by state le;3islature covers in addition to the regular Police R reserves. Councilwoman HaGer r.eported on proposed new water rates. C01)nc}l agreed that the minimUIl'. of $2.50 per 5}J be lo",ered to I.j.M and 25~ per llC ealS""up fo 20g then 20if. per:'lOOO pals thereafter. Excluded rates minimum lowered to 4 r.; also. Councilwoman Ha~er motioned the new rates become effective January 1, 1968 and that a letter be written to each user notifying them of the new rates:" Councilman Hamby seconded motion. No No's. r10tion carried. Councilwoman Ha:,er sur:gested that bids be taken for Commercial fence and landscaping for new water tank. Council agreed. Councilwoman Hager to get said bids. City clerk. call Barbara rerarding fence closing Columbus St. put up by West Orance Fence Company for Mid State Trucking Co. Letter to be written to new owners Overland AGgregate Company in reference to same. Councilman Hamby stated that Chief Vandergrift would like approval for 3 Firemen to attend school in Miami sponsored by The Committee on Injuries of The American Academy of Orthopoedic Surn;eons. Re;:;isteration fee $35.00 per person plus expense. Approx. amount $300.00. Counciln~n Vandergrift motioned the city issue check for $300.00 and char~e same to Fireman's Budget. Councilman Hamby seconded,the motion No No's. Hotion carried. Councilman Vanderf,rift motioned the Fire Contract from the City of Windermere in the amount of $1.200.00 be put in general funds and marked for fire department. City clerk to contact auditors as to handling of s~e. Councilman Hamby seconded motion. No 1-;o:s. Votion carried. Representative from Jaycee Committee asked for permission to have Xmas. Parade December ~th. Council aGreed. Councilman Reese motioned we accept Hayor Hinors proposal that we keep the Police car instead of trading in on new car. Councilman Vandererift seconded motion. No no's. Fotion carried. Councilman Hamby motioned we 8ive Police ~ Fire Chief a $25.00 per month raise retroactive as of Novemher 1. 1967. Councilman Vandergrift seconded. Councilman Reese, Hamby and Vander~rift voted yes. CouncilvlOman Hae;er abstained. Councilman Vandercrift motioned Reserve officers get free water. Councilman Reese seconded. No no's. Motion carried VaJTor Minor asked that Police Department have cameras. Council agreed. Chief Turner and city clerk to check on prices. Councilman Reese motioned the city buy Calculator. Councilwoman Hager seconded motion. No no's Votion carried.
