MINUTES OF THE ROOULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY
OF OCOEE, OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD: 1/21/69
PRESENT:
Comm. Vandergrift, Reese, Stinnett, Miller & Mayor Minor
ABSENT:
None
Meeting called to order by Mayor Minor at 7:15 P. M.
Reading of last minutes read and approved
Comm. Reese motioned all bills in order be paid. Comm. Stinnett seconded the
motion. No No's. Motion carried.
John Partee, representative for Hamilton Funds, explained to the council their
retirement plan. He quoted the cost to the cit1.~s 10% of emplo~ees annual
wages and employees could pay an additional $'3i-o-ent up to 6%, if they 80 desired.
Mayor Minor stated he was in favor of a retirement plan, but in as much..; as such
a plan~had not been included in this years budget, the city could not enter
into any plan before the new budget is set up in October 1969.
Mr. Clarence Weeks, Minister of the Methodist Churoh, Mr. Ernest Kendle, Minister
of the Christain Church and a representative for the Church of God of Prophesy
came before the council in reference to the Ramada Inn being granted permission
to serve liquor on Sunda~ in their restaurant. They brought two partitions signed
by members of the churches, a total of lOO memb~rs.
Comm. Vandergrift motioned the council table this discussion until next Council
Meeting, Feb. 4th, in order to get additional information as to other residents in the ci
city. Comm. Miller seconded. No No's. Motion carried.
Atty. J. B. Griffin introduced Mr. Ward Thieson and wife to the council, in reference
to land they had purchased and ask to be brought into the city. Atty. Hamlin stated
that an ordinance had been made to annex this property.
Comm. Vandergrift motioned the city accept this ordinance to annex said property.
Comm. Stinnett seconded. No No's. Motion carried.
Chief of Police, Lero~ Turner read bids for Walkie Talkie Radios, as follows:

Comm. Vandergrift motioned city purchase 3 Walkie Talkie radios. 1 for Police
Dept. and two for fire department, to the low bidder, Johnson & Akins. Comm.
Miller seconded the motion. No No's, Motion carried.
Comm. Miller motioned no parking signs be placed on east side of Cumberland Avenue
to Floral Street. Comm. Reese seconded the motion. No No's. Motion carried.

City Clerk to write Atk.uLic Coast Line to fix crossing on Columbus Street.
Comm. Miller reported he had sold two old trucks for $500.00
Comm. Miller motioned the city apply the $500.00, from the two old truck, on a pick-
up truck for the street department. Stinnett seconded. No No's Motion carried.
Comm. Miller motioned the city get bids to finish up barn onJ Flewelling Drive.
Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Gomm. Vandergrift abstained, Miller, Stinnett,
Reese and Ma~or Minor voted yes. Motion carr1B8.
Comm. Vandergrift reported to the council that he would like to invite Dixie Barber
Supervisor of regristeration to attend a meeting of the council in reference to
voters registrar. Council agreed. Comm. Vandergrift to contact Mrs. Barber to
see if and when she could attend.

Comm. Reese motioned the city take an ad in the Elk's Club paper for $5-;ee
per year. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. No No's. Motion carried.
Comm. Reese motioned that all churches in the city be required to meter
water and that the school be metered, starting at the end of the school term.
Comm. Miller seconded. No No's. Motion carried.

Comm. Reese reported the city had purchased property as follows:'
Lot 1, Block E. Lakeview Third Addition, according to plat
thereof as recorded in Plat book "0" page 120 of the Public
Records of Orange County, Florida.
at a cost of $600.00
Comm. Reese motioned city get insured title and have survey of above property.
Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. No No's. Motion carried.
