MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF OCOEE, OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD: JUNE 23 1969

Mayor Minor called the meeting to order at 6:35 P. M.
Comm. Stinnett moved to dispense with reading minutes. Comm. Miller
seconded. No No's. Motion carried.
Comm. Miller moved all bills in order be paid. Comm. Stinnett seconded
the motion. No No's. Motion carried.

James Mitchell, representative of Orlando Building Service brought bid I
and drawing for new city barn. Their bid was $12,000.00
Delam Fields carne before council and stated that he had heard that the
city had annexed certain properties for a fertilizer plant and that he
as spokesman for the West Orange Industries, wanted to make proper
objection to same and that this objection go down in the minutes of this
meeting as stated. He said that as far as the fertilizer plant going into the
Industrial Park on Story Road, he had no objections, but that he did ..:f-t>
object to the location being between Highway 50 and the main entrance into
the City. He also stated Ocoee has the highest insurance rate in Florida
and suggested the city hire firemen in order to reduce exhorbitant rates.
Mr. Wurst, Insurance representative stated the City should contact Insurance
Underwriters and get the necessary information needed to lower our rates.
Comm. Vandergrift motioned the City make inquiry from said Insurance
. UNderwriters. Comm. Stinnett seconded. No No's. Motion carri~d.
Atty. Hamlin brought agreement from Kent Tyus, developer of Lakeshore
Gardens. for the council to review.
Comm. Reese moved the council accept agreement from developers of Lake
shore Gardens. regarding restrictions, etc. Comm. Miller seconded. No
No's. Motion carried.
Atty. Hamlin also brought new franchise from Apopka Natural Gas Co. I
to be signed.
Comm. Vandergrift moved the City accept new franchise agreement betwen
Lake Apopka Natural Gas Co. and the City of Ocoee. Comm. Miller
seconded motion. No No's. Motion carried.
Comm. Vandergrift reported he visited the Council Meeting in Gadsden,
Alabama, while on vacation and commented on several aspects of the meeting. HE
He asked City clerk to write letters to the Mayor and Commission. thanking
the, for their hospitality and inviting them to our city.
Comm. Reese reported that Starke Lake was clearing up nicely after the
spraying/ Also, the Little league building was completed and inspection
would be tomorrow morning, June 24th.
Comm Reese reported he sold the old sanitation truck for $750.00
, Comm. Miller opened bid from Graces Construction, Kissimme for New City Barn. !
The bid was $11,703.00 tax included to be deducted. He morioned we
. award Graves Co of Kissimmee, the contract to build the barm. Comm.
Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm. Vandergrift abstained from voting.
Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Reese, Miller voted
yes. Motion carried.
There being no further business Comm. Miller motioned Council adjourn. I
Comm. Stinnett seconded. Thereupon, meeting of the council gjourned
at 8:45;-\. M. 0
