MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
JANUARY 6, 1970
Present: Mayor Fox, Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Whitehead & Farmer
Absent: . None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:03 P.M. The minutes
of the last regular meeting held December 16, 1969 and the special
meeting held December 30, 1969 were read and approved. Comm. Whitehead
made a motion to accept the minutes as read and Comm. Stinnett seconded
the motion. Voted and carried.
Comm. Stinnett made a motion to pay all bills in order. Comm. Whitehead
seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Mr. Jim Brown from the Orange County Personal Property Tax Office
was present to disbuss and explain about personal property tax.
He stated' that the tax was based on returns submitted to their office
from the business owners.
Mr. W. H. Wurst gave the City an estimate of our insurance policies
premium or $4,616.20. He is to bring a more detailed outline with the
correct t?tal to our next meeting.
We had complaints on Lee Street and Mobile Lane. ' Comm. Miller reported
that he was going to resurface the entrance to Mobile Lane. Comm.
Stinnett suggested that we have our engineers find a solution to the
drainage problem on Lee St. They were to be contacted.
Our. attorney, Michael Hamlin, was to contact the State Road Department
about the' State ditch through Ocoee and the Silver Star Road.
Comm. Whitehead made a motion to contact our engineers to layout
drainage on Lee Street, Cumberland Ave., Bay Street. Comm. Farmer
seconded the motion. Comm. Whitehead, Farmer, Miller and Stinnett
voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Mr. W. C.' Nobles, a resident on Lee Street, asked if the ditches were I
replaced on Lee street would his driveway be replaced as before. He
was told that it would.
Mr. Long from West Orange Battery Service asked about having No Parking
signs put up in front of his business. Comm. Miller was to put the
signs up.

The County Dog Catcher informed us if we would pick up stray dogs
they would come out and pick them up. Our attorney said as long as
the Coutny was tr~ing to help we should not try to have a pen of
our own. Our attorney was to see if we need an ordinance to pick
up dog owners when dogs become nuisances.
Comm. Stinnett made a motion to install a partly line phone in the
jail for the convenieBce of the prisoners. Comm. Farmer seconded the
motion. Comm.Stinnett, Farmer, Miller and ~~itehead voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Kuhrt, engineer and Mr. Amick of Amic~ Construction appeared
before th Comm. with a proposal of a subdivision north of Brentwood.
They were to bring a more detailed proposed plat at our next meeting.
They proposed to install their own water lines hooking onto our lines
and deed the lines ,to the City.
Mayor Fox has proclaimed February as CLEAN UP MONTH in Ocoee. The
City trash trucks will be around on Wednesday of each week in February
to pick up trash.
Our attorney was to contact Mr. Mikaelson from the Orange County
Zoning Commission about zoning Ocoee.
The Comm. had received complaints about trucks parking behind the
Enco station on the Apopka Road and letting their refrigeration,
units run all night. The police were to cheek into this.
6omm. Miller made a motion to recess this meeting until 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday January 13, 1969. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion.
Thereupon Commission recessed at 9:35 P.M.

Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:00 P.M.
Mayor Fox asked about getting File cabinets to store city records in.
Mr. Oliver was to get prices on Navy surplus cabinets.
~~. Kuhrt and Mr. Amick were back with a proposed plat of Brentwood
Heights Unit 4. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to accept the prelim-
inary plat. Comm. Whithead seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett,
Whitehead, Miller and Farmer voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
