Stinnett, Miller, Whitehead &/Farmer Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:00 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held January 20, 1970 were read and approved. ' Comm. Stinnett made a motion to pay all bills in order. Comm. Farmer seconded the motion and carried. A. Stinnett reported that the water department men were worki~g on the grease pit in the barn while it was raining. I Comm. Stinnett made a motion to get bids on roofing the slab at the Youth Center. Comm. Whitehead seconded the Comm. Stinnett, Whitehead, Miller and Farmer voted YES. Carried unanimously. ' Representatives from Professional Insurance Company presented an insurance plan for city employees. The Commissioners were to look into the plan and decide whether to accept this pro- posal. concret e motion. No NO'S I Mr. Wurst asked for a street light installed in front of the house he built on Spring Street. Florida Power Corp. was to be contacted to install a light on this street. A letter was received from Nation-al Soci'ety of Professional Engineers proclaiming February 22-28, 1970 as National Engi- neers Week. The Mayor, Hubert W. Fox signed the enclosed proclamation and returned this. The Commissioners decided that anyone who wanted the old City buildings would have to sign an agreement agreeing to clean up all debris o~ the premises. Comm. Stinnett suggested that we use the 'first cell next to Floral street for the women Who were held in custody. Comm. Whithead made a motion to get bids on remodeling the jail for this purpose. Comm. Stinnett s'econded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Whitehead, Farmer and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. A resident from Spring Lake Hills asked about getting an oil drum removed from the Enco Service Station on Wurst Road. The Humble Oil Company was to be contacted conserning this. Mike Hamlin, attorney, reported that he had a letter from r1r. Higginbotham stating that nothing had been done about moving our High School, and that before anything was done we would have a chance to have a hearing. Comm. Miller made a motion to accept Ordinance #508 being an ordinance of the City of Ocoee annexing Certain property into the Minicipal city Limits of the City of Ocoee, Orange County, Florida to-wit: I Beginning at the corner formed by the intersection of the North R/W line of S.R. #50 with the West R/W line of Mc- Guire Road (S.R. #539); run thence (1) westerly along said line of S.R. #50 298.76 feet to a point; run thence (2) N 0006'4311 W, 460.42 feet to a point; run thence (J) S 89056'3011 E, 299.66 feet to a point in the said line of McGuire Road (S.R. #539; run thence (4) Southerly along same, 459.81 feet to the Point and Place of Beginning. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. ~Comm. Miller, Stinnett, Farmer and \fuitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Miller made a motion to aceppt Ordinance #509 being an Ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, amending Ordinance Number 45$ and prohibiting the parking, standing or storage of a motor vehicle not in use or the use thereof having been discontinued on any lot, piece or parcel of land within a residential or business area of the' City of Ocoee; providing a penalty for the violation thereof. Comm. Stinnett seconded I the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer and vfuitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Miller made a motion to accept Ordinance #510 being an Ordinance of the City of Ocoee prohibiting the throwing or depositing of litter in public places in the City of acoee; regulating the distribution of commercial and non-commercial handbills; controlling the depositing of litter on private premeses; providing a lien for City~!clearance; and prescribing penalties for the violation of its provisions. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer and White-' head voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Mr. Ben Griffin appeared before the Comm. and informed them that he and ~~. Hamlin were not longer partners, and that they would have to choose who they wanted for their attorney. Cornm. Stinnett made a motion to retain ~rr. Michael Hamlin at the present time as City Attorney. Comm. Miller seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller and Farmer voted YES. Comm. Whithead and Mayor Fox voted NO. Motion was carried. Representatives from the T.M. Communications Co. presented a. plan for cable T.V. in Ocoee. The mayor proposed to table this untIl March 3, 1970 at which time they are to return to hear the Comm. dmcision. Comm. Stinnett suggested that we have the Ocoee Cemetery sur- veyed and a fence erected around the front of it. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to hire Glenn Thomas to survey the Cemetery. Comm. Farmer seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Farmer, Miller and Whitehead voted YES. No NO!S. Carried unanimously.
