Stinnett, Miller, Whitehead & Farmer Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor. Fox at 7:00 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held May 19, 1970 and the recessed meeting held May 25, 1970 were read and approved." Comm. Sinntee'made a motion to pay all bills in order." Comm. She stated a car was towed aWay rrom in front of her home after she had asked the policeman to let her move1.it. She thinks the City should pay the $15.00 tow charge. 'The Mayor ~. I stated he ha4 no authorization to pay this bill. The Mayor was to investigate this matter further with Chief Turner and Patrol- man Tenney. : Mr. E. M. Henderson reported a cabinet manufacturer wanted to ~uy the property North of Wardco on the Clarcona Road andohave ~t annexed into the City. He is to meet with the zoning comm. I I I Our attorney, Michael Hamlin, stated that Rick Michaels of T. M. Comm~ications would agree to giving the City $10,000.00 for the first tbree years and continue with the contract after- wards. Mr. Dykes who was present at the meeting was to contact our attorney later on this matter. The new owner of Mr. Bowness Service Station, Mr. Carse, stated he would furnish the City with gas at the same price as Mr. Bowness had. It was reported that the Ford Police car was ready to be sold. The Clerk was to run an ad in the paper to see if we could sell it. Chief Turner reported he had a bid from A; P. Clark for a 1970 Plymouth for $2,$7U.00. Comm. Miller made a motion to wait one week before buying a new police car until we sell the Ford. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Miller, Stinnett, Farmer and Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Farmer reported the Firemen need another emergency unit fg~rthe police station, and they have agreed to repair the ~ if the City will buy them one. Comm. Farmer was to get three prices on'the unit. ' . The Clerk was to notify the lot owners on Lakeshore Drive to mow their lots or the City will mow and bill them for the labor. A.letter'was received from Michael O'Connor asking for the lifeguard job this summer on Starke Lake. The Clerk was to write him that we were taking more applications before making a decision. The Comm. Discussed having the prisoners clean out the lake in the swimming area. The Mayor proposed to buy boots for the ones who will be working in the water. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to buy 10, 50 gallon drums to put around the swimming area. Comm. Whitehead, Miller, Stinnett and Miller voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. The Clerk was to contact the Ocoee High School principal to see if any students would like to apply for the lifeguard job, for the summer. Comm. Miller made a motion to buy a Victor adding machine ,from A. & R. Office Machines in the amount of $144.50. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer andWhitehead vo~ed YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. It was reported b~ the Commissioners that all dispatching could be heard over the 10-10's installed in the firemens homes. Comm. Stinnett made a motion not to pay for them until more information could be obtained. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer and Whitehead voted YES. No NO!S. Carried unanimously. The Clerk was to contact Motorola Commission and ask a representative to attend the next meeting conserning a different frezuency for the police department. Mr. W. H. Wurst of the zoning commission stated Mr. John Boogart had been accepted by them to be the seventh member of the committee. Ted Mikelson reported on the progress he and the ~oning committee I had made and presented land use ~ps of Ocoee they. had drawn. . After discussing the beer license for the Sub Shop Comm. Whitehead made a motion to table this until the next meeting. Comm. Miller seconded'the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer and Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm.'Miller and Mayor Fox were to draw up some City policies for the next meeting. The Clerk was to write z letter of recommendation for Carolyn Haight, who was a swimmdng instructor for the last 2 years on Starke Lake. ' , Scott Vandergrift appeared before the Comm. about the mone~ he had personally spent on the Teen Council in the amount of ~124.00. Comm. Farmer made a motion to reimburse him for the money. Comm. Stimett seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Farmer, Miller..'and Whitehead voted YES, No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Mr. Vandergrift discussed a summer program for the teens but no decision was made. There being no further business Comm. Miller made a motion to' adjourn this meeting. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Thereupon Council adjourne~ at 9:25 P.M.
