Comm. Miller made a motion to adopt the following vacation schedule
for the present time:
1 year employment - 1 week vacation except I
police 2 weeks
2-10 years" 2 weeks
10-15 yrs." 3 weeks
over 15 yrs." 4 weeks
Comm. Farmer seconded the motion. Comm. Whitehead, Miller and
Farmer voted YES. No NO~S. carried unanimously.
The contract between Kihrt and Assoc. and theCity of Ocoee was
tabled until our-attorney could contact the County Engineer
conserning the rates in the contract.
Comm. Miller reported that Mobile Lane had been repaired and
Lee Street was being paved and the prisoners were cleaning
up" th~ lake front. >
Comm. Whitehead reported Mr. Howard Lilly wanted to have a
portable vegetable stand on South Bluford at Geneva Street.
The Comm. Said he would have to meet with the zoni~g commission.
Comm. Miller asked about the yourig people loitering around the
corner of Bluford and McKey Streets. The police were to keep
them from behind the buildings.
There being no further business Comm. Miller made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. I
Thereupon Comm. adjourned at 10:05 P.M.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
JUNE 30, 1970
Present: 'Mayor Fox; comm. Stinnett, Farmer, Whithead and Miller
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:05 P.M.
Mr. Tommy Ritten came before the Commission and asked for a license
to operate a wrecker service, just east of Sid Reeves on a temporary
basis, then later to be on Sid Reeves property after it is cleane<<
up. This property will have a six foot wooden fence around it,
painted, with hedging on the outside. This'business will operate
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using 2 wreckers. Their equipment
will be approved by the Highway Patrol. This is to be a wrecker I
service, not a junk yar or repair shop. They will need a building
to keep necessarY cars locked up in case of a homicide. Comm.
Farmer made a motion to table this until next meeting. Motion
died for lack of a second.

Comm. Miller made a motion to issue a license not to exceed one year
in present location. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm.
Miller, Stinnett~and Whitehead voted YES. Comm. Farmer voted NO.
Motion was carried.
City polices were discussed and they arrived at the following
suggestions:
INSURANCE: City will pay for Hospital insurance for their employees
and employees pay for coverage of their dependents ( Group Plan)
Call several local insurance companies and see if they are interested.

SICK LEAVE: Comm. Stinnett suggest 12 days a year. If they
have not used up days at ' end of year they are to be paid for
unused days as a bonus. This is to start July 1st, 1970 and
must be here a year before you can get bonus days paid, which
will be July 1st, 1971. Employees who leave cannot get
accumulated sick pay. Ce.. .:. ::i}l~?,'
Comm. Miller suggested each employee put in application for
vacation by June 1st. of each year.
HOLIDAYS PER YEAR: New,. J ears Day, Memorial Day, July 4th,
Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Anyone working one of the above holidays will be paid for
two days work. If someone has another person work for them,
then the person who worked will be paid and not the one who
was supposed to work.
Mr. George Bailey introduced himself to the Comm. He has recently
purchased the Winter Garden Times and hopes to give better coverage
of this area.
Mr. Roger Penn of the Sentinel Star was here, and says he will be
here at council meetings and hopes to give much better coverage
of this area.
There being no further business Comm. Miller made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. There-
upon Comm. adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
