Stinnett, Whitehead, Miller and Farmer Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:00 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held July 7, 1970 and the special meeting held July 20, 1970 were read and approved with the exception of the bids on paving, which should be $1.40 per sq. yd on Lakeshore Drive and $O~ per sq. yd on the other streets to be paved. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to approve all bills in order. Comm. Miller seconded the motion. Voted and carried. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to give permission to install the proposed crossing. Comm. Miller seconded-the motion. Comm. Stinnett, ~liller, Farmer and Vfuitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Jim Bailey, from Lincoln National Insurance Companies had plans and prices from 6 insurance companies. Prudential Insurance Co. representative did not have a price for his plan. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to accept the bid from Travelers Ins. Co. for City employees to become effective Nov. 1, 1970. Comm. Farmer seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Miller, Farmer and Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. I I I I Mr. Dick Schell from Dick & Sam's Sub Shop was present to ask for a beer license for his place of business. Our attorney read from the state statutes that as long as we have no zoning at this time we cannot refuse him a license, only regulate the hours he is to open and close and see that hi~ place is kept sanitary. Comm. Stinnett and Farmer stated they~did not see how we refuse him a license, all he had to do was to apply and pay for the license from the Clerk. Comm. \~ithead and Miller and Mayor Fox all said they were against issuing the license. The Mayor instructed Mr. Schell to apply for his license at the City Hall. ~x. Richard Doss was present ID complain about a drainage ditch that had been stopped up on Kissimmee Ave. with fill dirt. The Clerk was to write the County Comm. conserning this matter. Chris Sisson of the Ocoee JayCees asked the Comm to buy an add on football cushions. Comm. Stinnett made a motion to buy a $100.00 ad. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Whitehead, Farmer and Miller voted YES. No NO/S. Carried unanimously. Mr. W. H. Wurst our insurance agent stated the reserve police would be covered under workmen's compensation. Comm., Whitehead made a motion to transfer $13,000.00 from the General Fund to Police Department. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm. Whitehead, Stinnett, Miller and Farmer voted YES. No NO.S Carried unanimously. Comm. Farmer was to havetle representative who sold us the 10-10's at our next meeting. Comm. Stinnett made a ~otion to purchase an Akron nozzle for the Fire Department from Jack Cocke & Co. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Stinnett, Whitehead, Miller and Farmer voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Our attorney, Michael Hamlin reported he had written some letters about getting Federal Aid to build an administration building. Also he is to draw an ordinance de-annexing the Roper property on ~~guire Road. There being no further business Comm. vlliithead made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Comm.
