The cost was 307,300.00 as of that date. The cost now would be $30,000 to $40,000. more. Mr. Surette suggested that land be purchased for a runway at least 6,000 feet long, for future development. He stated the owner of the airport would have to purchase the land and then submit payment application to the Federal Government for re- imbursement of the cost. A meeting will be held Monday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the Ramada Inn with Ocoee and Apopka City Officials and any members of the old airport committee who wish to attend. Winter Garden City Officials are to be invited to attend the meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to see if they are interested in continuing with the plans for the airport and to see if funds will be available from the participating cities. The Engineering fees to update the survey will not exceed $500.00. This money and the money already spent will be shared by the FAA and the State. Mr. Leroy with the Department of Transportation stated this was the first year the State had included a budget for travel other than automobiles.
