MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COr-rr-.uSSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
SEPTEMBER 1, 1970
Present: Mayor Fox, Corr~. Stinnett, Whitehead, Miller and Farmer
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:00 P.M. The
minutes of tre last regular meeting held August 18, 1970 were
read and approved.
Comm. Miller made a motion to pay all bills in order. Comm.
Whitehead seconded the motion. Voted and carried.

Jerry Metts of Mett's wrecker Co. of Winter Garden was
present to ask permission to do wrecker service in Ocoee.
He was instructed to obtain a license from the City Hall
to do business in Ocoee.
The Mayor received a letter from attorney general Earl
Faircloth asking the City to pass an ordinance against
obscenity. Our attorney was instructed to draw up this
ordinance. -
Comm. Stinnett made a motion to buy a full page ad in the
Ocoee High School annual. Comm. Farmer seconded the motion.
Comm. Stinnett, Farmer, Whitehead and Miller voted YES. No
NO'S. Carried unanimously.

A representative/from the company from which we purchased the I
ten-tenTs to explain what we had purchased. Some of the comm-
issioners were under the impression the sets would give a
signal only instead of being a receiver, Comm. Farmer made
a motion to pay for the ten-tents. Comm. Whithead seconded
the motion. Comm. Farmer, Whithead and ,Mayor Fox voted YES.
Comm. Stinnett voted NO. Comm. Miller refrained from voting.
Mottn was carried.

Comm. Miller made a motion to ask store owners not to sell
alcoholic beverages from 7 A.M. until 7 P.M. on election day
September 8, 1970. Comm. Stinnett seconded the motion. Comm.
Miller, Stinnett, 'Nhitehead and Farmer voted YES. No NO'S.
Carried unanimously.
Our attorney, Michael E. Hamlin, had drawn an ordinance to
de-annex the property West of Kissimmee Avenue. This was
tabled until a later date.
The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to ~~s. Leon Adams
asking her to pay for the pipe that was installed under her
driveway.
The Commissioners discussed having a meter at each apartment
and house instead of having more than one apartment or house
on a meter. No action was taken on this.

Comm. Farmer made a motion to accept the contract between
Kuhrt and Associates and the City of Ocoee. Comm. Stinnett
seconded the motion. Comm. Farmer, Stinnett, Miller and
Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
The Commissioners discussed changing a fire hydrant in front
of Ocoee Gulf Service Station. The/decided to to remove it.
They discussed ways of obtaining money for our part of the
Tri-City airport. One way was to sell bonds. They agreed
to go ahead with the airport plans even if Winter Garden
dropped out.
Our attorney reported he had attended an attorney meeting in
Orlando.He said a law had been passed where City's had to
pay for attornies for indigents and that we have to have
jury trials at City Court.
There behg no further business Comm. Miller made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion.
Thereupon Council adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
