MINUTES OF THE SPECI~L IVIEETING OF THE CITY
COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLOllIDI\
HELD MI\RCH 23, 1971
Present: ~:ayor Fox, Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter & ~Vhitehead
Absent:
None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:18 P.Ivl;. The
purpose of the meeting was for a public hearing to pass the zoning
ordinance for tee City.
Some of the citizens asted questions about how zoning could be
chane;ed when requested. Ivlr. Ted Mikalsen who has worked with
our zoning board and drew the ordinance, explained that certain
changes were permitted on review and could be authotiz~d by the
Planning & Zoning Board and would take approximately 2 months.
Sam Holland and Delma Fields were interested in having a certain,
area zoned for trailers and this had not been done when the ord- .
inance was drawn up. They were informed that the planning and
zoning commission did not have authorit3r to make specific zoning
until the ordinance had been adopted by the City Commission. Cur
attorney inform the!"l1 a zoning commission could not zone a certain
area in the zoning ordinance without showing preference.
Comm. Crawford made a motion to adopt the zoning ordinance as
drawn by the Planning & Zoning Commission and upon adopting this
ordinance the planning & zoning commission is in full power as a
commission. Corom. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford,
Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. t:o I'm'S. Carried unanimously.
Comm. ~~itehead made a motion to sell the zoning ordinances for
$5.00. Comm. Crawford seconded the motion. Comm. Whitehead,
Turner, Crawford and Carter voted YES. No ~JO'S. Carrj.ed
unanimously. This amount applies only to the ones we nQw have on
hand.
There being no further business G Cornm. Crawford made a Dotion to
adjo~rn this meetin~. Co~~. Turner seconded the ~otion. Thereupon
