These men urged the Comm. to consider all alternatives before
making a definite decision and promote interlocal cooperation
with other local cities. The three different suggestions were:
Build our own, connect with the big inch or work out a deal
to connect in with Winter Garden.
Mr. Malloy suggested we build our own system. He discussed
the amount of Federal and State money that could be obtained.
Vtr. Malloy and Mr. Kuhrt were to look into the new law con-
cerning a 55% grant and a 45% loan at low interest.
Comm. Turner made a;motion for ~~. Kuhrt and Mr. Vignetti
officially begin work on the planning for a sewer system.
Crawford seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner and
voted YES. No NO'S.

There being no~further business Comm. Crawford made a motion
to agjourn this meeting. Comm. Carter seconded the motion.
Thereupon Comm. adjourned at 9:20 P.M.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD

Present:

The meeting was called ot order by Mayor Fox at 7:30 P.M.
The special meeting was for the purpose of discussing the
application for Federal Aid for a Sewerage Treatment Plant.
Bill Reedy was present to explain some of the reasons we need
a sewerage system. He said Florida has the softest soil in the
U. S. and felt we were heading for trouble if we didn't install
a sewerage system. He felt that septic tanks polluted our water
systems and that we should apply for aid and get our sewerage
started as soon as possible. He stated in 1973 it will be
mandatory that all cities have sewerage and the state will
come in and install it and charge their own connections fees
and monthly rates.
Our City ~~nager, Mr. Vignetti, explained to the Comm the cost,rates
and maintenance cost of a sewerage system:

2,000 connections at $5.00 each per
month = $120,000.00 per year.

expenditures 5 to 6%
of revenue
$25,000.00

This meeting waa for the purpose of passing a resolution to
apply to PL 660 for a grant.
Comm. Crawford made a motion to pass this resolution. Comm.
Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner and
Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Comm. Crawford made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion.
Thereupon Comm. adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
