Crawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:30 P.M. The minutes of 'the last regular meeting held July 6, 1971 and the special meeting held July 7, 1971 were read and approved. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to approve all bills in order. Comm. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to I give them this letter. Comm. Crawford seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead'voted YES. No NO'S. 'Carried unanimously. ~I First reading of an ordinance to annex the following described property and a public hearing set for August 3, 1971: That portion of the NEk of the SEk lying South and West of the Maguire Road Extension and also that portion of the NWk of the SEk lying Easterly of the Ocoee-Beulah Road less from the,SE Corner of the SEk of the SEk of Section 19, Township 22 South, Range 2$ East, run S 89023'12" W'along the 40 acre line a distance of 289.97'ft for a POB; rim thence S 89023'12" W a distance of 767.81 ft; then N 22051'31" E a distance of 307.74 ft to a point on the S R/W line of Maguire Road Extension"; thence S 67008'29" E~ along said R/W line a distance of 672.07 ft to the P.C. or a curve concave to the SE; thence along the arc of said curve 32.2~ ft to the POB; all beingin Section 19, Township 22 South, Range 28 East and consisting of 4.53'acres more or less. . First reading of an ordinance'to annex the following descbibed property and a public hearing was set for August 3, 1971: Be?inning at the NW corner of the E! of the SE~ of the NE~ of Section 17, Township 22 South, Range 28' East run J thence S 213.91 ft to a point 111.35 feet N of the East- West quarter section line, run thence E 287.6 ft, thence run N 220.57 ft, thence run W 287.6 ft to the POB .~, This p~operty be~ongs to the Church of the Nazarene and they hav~ a~ke~ the Clty to run a water"l~ne to this pDoperty. After a dlSc~sslon the Commission instructed the City Manager to charge ,the church for the cost of the water line to the property. I Mr. Vignetti reported that he had a meeting with a representative from the State Beverage Department office. He is to check into all our businesses to make sure we are collecting all cigarette tax due us. Also, after Jfinuary 1971 we:will begin collecting gasoline tax. A letter was issued from the City Manager to all employees of all departments to obtain purchase orders before any purchases were made. Mr. Vignetti is to meet with the East Central Florida Planning Council in regards to a sewer plant for Ocoee, on July 29, 1971. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to authorize Mrs. Dodge to sign checks in the Clerks absence. Comm. Crawford seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Whitehead and Carter voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Sl.e was also appointed Deputy Clerk. Mr. Vignetti reported that United Associates were going to install the remainder of the drain pipe into Spring Lake and Amick Construction co. has installed curbing along the right side of the Ocoee Hills Road to help with the drainage problem in that area. I Mr. William Breeze gave a report on the recreation questionaires. Approximately 1300 were mailed and 79 were filled out and re- turned. A copy of the survey on the answers are attached to these minutes. The Mayor reported he had talked to Mayor Land of Apopka and he felt sure their council would. sign the agreement ~or a grant for engineering funds for the Tir-City Airport. James Vandergrift, Fire Chief, neported that all new buildings outside the City but inside our Fire District should have both the plans ahd the building ihspected by him. Mr. Wurst reported,the request for placing a house trailer at the Church on Wurst Road was denied by the Planning and Zoning Comm. Mr. Rhodes was instruc~ed by the Commission to draw up an ordinance regulating junk yards in Ocoee. A letter was received from the State Road Department stating our request for a traffic light at Silver Star Road and Bluford Ave. ~lSr. denie'd~nle. The City Commission and Mayor were very dis- appointed about this decision. Mr. Rhodes stated the annexation of SR 437 had been denied by the State Road Department. Hesis, to find out the reason for the denial. I First reading of an ordinance amending the garbage ordinance #525. There being no further business Comm.
