The minutes of the last regular meeting August 3, 1971 and the special meeting held August l~, 1971 were read and. approved. Comm. Whithead made a motion to approve all bills in order. Comm. Emergency Fund: City of Ocoee, General Fund (to close acconnt) Comm. Crawford asked our attorney, John H. Rhodes, ,if the Board of Adjustment could make a decision-over the Planning & Zoning Board and City Commissioners. He stated they could within their legal boundaries, but there is 7 rigid criterias that they have to meet in order to make a decision. dep. ref. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to continue with the basketball and tennis courts at the Youth Center. Comm. Turner seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No.NO'S. -Carried unanimously. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to accept Ordinance #533 being an ordinance of the City of Ocoee, Florida, regulating the 108ation~ design and operation of junkyards within the City and proYiding penalties for the violation thereof. Comm. Carter seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S.- Carried unanimously. Mr. & Mrs. Pete Armstong and Mrs. Bruce were present to ask permission for their boys to ride their mini-bikes on City property between the Little League and the Railroa4. .Our attorney stated he did not think it would be illegal.for them to ride but he did not know about insurance liability if.some- one was hurt. Mr. Wurst was to find out if our insurance would cover this. . I . The West Orange JayCees asked (<permission to have a swimming contest on Labor Day.on Starke Lake. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to give them permission providing they have their own blanket insurance coverage and clean up afterwards. Comm. Turner seconded the ,motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. -. . Mr. Vignetti.asked Ted Mikalsen about reproducing our zoning ordinance. He gave us a price of $280.00 for 100 copies. Comm. Crawford made amotion to order 100 copies. ,Comm. Turner seconded the motion. .Comm. Crawford, Turner and Carter voted YES. Comm. Whitehead abstained from voting. .Motion was carried. Several men were suggested for the Board of Adjustment. This appointment was postponed until a later date, when all the men have been contacted. Mr. Vignetti.stated the Regional Planning &.Zoning were to have a joint meeting with Ocoee and Winter Garden at the Pine Hills Bank Building. .' . , . Mr. Vignetti.gave a briefing on the budget for 1971-72 and a work session.was set ror Thursday, Aug. 19,1971 at.7:00 P.M. I . . . The City Commissioners discussed haveing a new ordinance to enforce having the Railroad crossings flaged. Comm. Whiteh~ad made a motion to accept Ordinance #534, annexing certain properties in the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida. Comm. Turner seconded the motion. Comm. Cr~w- ford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Crawrord made a motion to accept Ordinance #535, annexing certain properties into the Municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter &Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Whitehead made.a motion to accept Ordinance #536, annexing certain properties into the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida. Comm. Carter. seconded the motion. .Comm. Craw- ford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. Comm. Crawford made a motion to accept Ordinance #537, annexing I certain properties into the Municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida. Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. Comm. "----1-/. r Attest:a~ JJ/~ Ih~---- (L)\~f lerk Mayor MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL ~~ETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD AUGUST 31, 1971 The special meeting was called to order by ~~yor Fox at 7:40 P.M. for the purpose of adopting the 1971-72 City Budget. Mr. Vignetti presented the revised budget to the City Commissioners. There was a discussion on the salaries in the Sanitation Department. They were not consistent with the other departments. The majority of the commissioners agreed to pay the sanitation workers the same as the street department workers plus the 5% raise 'as all other employees. Comm. Whitehead made a motion to adopt the budget for 1971-72:illl the amount of $462,609.00. A copy of the budget is on file. Comm. Crawford seconded the motion. Comm. Crawford, Turner, Carter and Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously. There being no further business Comm. Whitehead made a motion to adjourn this meeting. Comm.
