MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY'OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD
DECEMBER 7, 1971
Present: Mayor Fox; Comms. Orawford, Turner, Carter & Whitehead
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:00 P.M. The
minutes of the last regular meeting held November 16, 1971 and
the special meeting held November 30, 1971 were read and.approved.
Comm. Whitehead made a motion to pay all bills in order. pomm.
Turner seconded the motion. Voted and carried.
Mr. Rick Michaels, from T. M. Comm. was present asking that
Section 21 of their Franchise be deleted. Our attorney had
prepared an ordinance deleting this section. The first of
this ordinance was read.
Mr. Chuck Massey asked permission from the Commission to pick
up passengers at Ramada Inn to take them to Disney World, at the
request of the Ramada Inn. He will not. be Bicking up anywhere
else in Ocoee. He was granted permission by the City Commissioners.
Our attorney-stated he is not obligated to purchase a license for
this service.

L. & M. Manufacturing Co. requested a fire plug be installed
in front of their businessson Maguire Road. Comm. Whitehead
made a motion to install this plug. Comm. Turner seoonded
the motion. Comm. E~~aE., Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted
YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Comm. Whitehead made a motion to pass a resolution asking the
Governor ::.that.. fifty per-cent (50%) of the profit of the
corporate tax be r.eturned to the cities and counties from which
it was collected. Comm. Turner seconded the motion. Comm.
EE~SRR~ Turner, Carter and Whitehead voted Yes. No NO'S.
Carried 'unanimously.
It was.repor.ted that the Tri-City Airport had been denied by,
the Orange County Planning & Zoning Board. Comm. Whitehead
made a motion to continue with the airport and appeal to the
Orange County Commissioners. Comm. Carter seconded the motion.
Comm. Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried
unanimously.

Mr. Vignetti stated the additional drainage pipe into Spring Lake
from Brentwood Unit #4 had not been installed. He was to check
into this and see why it had, not been done.
The first reading of an ordinance establishing the closing hours
and hours of sales of. alcoholic beverages was read.
Comm. Carter made a motion to authorize our attorney to draw an
ordinance to raise the salary of Mayor to $150.00 and Commissioners
to $leO.OO to become effective November 1, 1972. Comm. Whitehead
seconded the. motion. Comm. Turner, Carter & Whitehead voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Comm. Turner made a motion to include the Mayor andCommissioners
in the City's group insurance plan with Pruaential Insurance Co.
Comm. Whitehead seconded the motion. ,Comm. Turner, Carter and
Whitehead voted YES. No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Vignetti reported the Winter Garden Christmas Parade will be
lineing up at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 1971. The Mayor
and Commissioners, Police Department &,Fire Depar.tments,are
invited to ride in the Parade.

Our attorney was to draw a new ordinance for City Occupational
License.a Our City Manager had.worked up a schegule for the
licenses.
A work session of the Commissioners was to be held Thursday,
December 9, 1971 at 7:30 P.M.
The Police Chief and one city official were authorized to attend
the police chiefs meeting and the City would pay,for the banquet.
Comm. Carter made a motion to approve a full audit report. Comm. I
Turner seconded the motion. Comm. Turner and Carter voted.',YES'. '. :'
Comnr. --ldhi tehead refrained from voting. Motion was carried.
Samuel Pratt of Rockland, Inc. was present to report that Peavy
Poultry had been tapped into the water line that he paid for to
be put to Rockland. He was informed this was only temporary.and
when the Park had their water system installed Peavy foultry would
be tapped into their lines.
The attorpey reported that 5 acres of the Maguire property would
come within 30 feet of.the buildings. This was to be resolved
before the contract was completed. Comm. Carter made a motion to
go ahead with the contract if the property i.s within one-fourth
and one-half of the original 5 acres. Comm. Whitehead seconded
the motion. Comm. Turner, Carter & Whitehead vo~ed YES. No NO'S.
Carried unan~mously.
Comm. Whitehead made a motion to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to
sign the necessary documents for the property. Comm. .Carter sec-
onded the motion. Comm. Turner, Carter and Whitehead Voted YES.
No NO'S. Carried unanimously.
There being no further business Comm. Whitehead made a motion to
adjourn this meeting. . Comm. Turner seconded the motion. Comm.
meeting adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
