Comm. Crawford asked how the Orlando Boat Company had received
a telephone when we have not given permission for telephone cable
to be installed in the Park. He stated this was only a temporary
line and he felt that permission had been obtained from the City
before the instllation and if not he would see that this dd not
happen again. Comm. Crawford also informed Mr. McQuillan that
Mr. & Mrs. Boon, 909 Flewelling Ave.i, were. complaining about the
condition the construction company had left the area in front of
their home. They felt that Archie Davis was responsibile put
Mr. McQuillan stated it was their contractor and he would see
that Mr. & Mr~. Boon were satisfied tomorrow.
Concerning the occupational license Comm. Crawford felt the
Telephone Company owed the City approximately $6,000.00 in past
due occupational license. He asked about the company donating
the lot they own in the City and pay about one-half of the .
licenses. Mayor Fox felt they ~ould donate the lot and pay the
licenses also. Mr. McQuillan was to take both suggestions to
the proper p~rson and report his findings back to the comm.
Comm. Crawford informed Mr. McQuillan that if the licenses are
not settled in the near future we are going to have a special
election and vote Florida Telephone Company out of Ocoee.
He is to get all information he can and contact us for a special
meeting.
Mr. Rhodes, our attorney stated he felt he and their attorney
could work this out. He had received a letter from their
attorney that he had sent to his company asking for a settle-
ment and he had not heard anything since.
Jim Clark, Jay Carroll and Walter Fritz, engineer of the West
Orange Industrial Park were present in regards to the drainage
in the Park. Mr. Carroll stated he had had a meeting with our
engineer Mr. Kuhrt and he also had aerial photos and explained
how the water drained out of the park into Lake Lotta. Comm.
Crawford felt this water went under Hwy. #50 and the Sunshine
ParkWay and into a-holding pond. Crawford stated they were not
going todmdn the water East. Mr. Clark said it was going East
,now but Comm. Crawford felt part of it should go South.
~yor Fox felt th~ could be a solution worked out. A suggestion
was made to all go lock and see which the water did go. Mr.
Clark was asked if he wou~d sign a letter stating they would be
responsible if the water caused any problems in the City. He
said he would and also put up a bond.
The Comm. were concerned because according to the plans they were
putting their drainage ditches through the Roper property. Mr.
Clark said they would put the datch on the North side of Story
Road and not drain the Roper property.
Mayor Fox felt we should contact Williams-Poole and work out
a solution concermm~g the water going through their property.
Mr. Clark said if the water went East they would help the City
clean out the ditches to help the natural drainage. Mr. Breeze
was to try and get a representative from Williams & Poole and
we can have a special meeting to discuss the drainage.
