Raymond Crawford,Jr., Frank Turner, Lewis Whitehead ABSENT: Comm. John Carter The meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor Fox at 7:05 P.M. The minutes of the last regular meeting held June 6, 1972 were read. Comm. Crawford made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Motion was seconded by Comm. Frank Turner. Comm. Turner made a motion to accept the offer. Motion was seconded by Comm. Crawford. Motion was carried with a YES vote from Comms. Crawford, Whitehead, Turner. No'~. ---- Comm. Crawford made a motion to sign the back work orders from the Florida Telephone Company. Motion was seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Motion carried with a YES vote from Comms. Crawford, Whitehead, Turner. No ~ --- City Commission gave the City Manager authority to negotiate with Windermere on the sale of the police blue light. Mr. Vignetti gave a progress report on (a) Railroad company's attempt to cut down on speed through housing development, (b) State Road 437 improvement at Fuller's Crossing, (cJ Good water samples on Lake Moxie and Lake Starke, (e) State Revenue Sharing, (f) building permits for .industrial park. - (Jomm. Turner made a motion 1b have regular commission meeting on ~ursday July 6, because of the holiday on Tuesday July 4. MotXn seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Motion carried with a~ vote from Comms. Whitehead, Turner, Crawford. No NO's. First reading on OrdinaBce No. 562 to-wit: An ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE FLORIDA, AND ESTABLISHING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION -OF SUCH .PROP . ERTY. Public hearing set for July 6, 1972. - First reading on Ordinance No. 561 to-wit: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AND ESTABLISHING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF SUCH PROPERTY. Public hearing set for July 6, 1972. Comm. Crawford made a motion to pay $5273.00 for the Compensation Insurance due to W. H. Wurst. Motion was seconded by Comm. White- head. Motion carried with a ~ vote from Comms. Whitehead, Crawford, Turner. No NO's . Mr. Myers brought a petition signed by the residents of Starke Lake Circle against a beauty shop request in a home in that area. Mr. Rhodes told him to hold the petition and bring it before the commission if the request got that far. Wayne Baker or Starke Lake Circle asked why the minutes of June 0, 1972 did nQt reflect that he had come before the commission requesting th~t something be done about the drainage problem on their streets~ Mayor Fox asked that a amendment be made in the minutes refleqting this request. A resident of.Center Street asked that speed signs be erected on that stree~ because of excess speed through that area. City 6ommission had a thorough discussion on vacation policies for the city employees. I~ was decided that Sam Oliver be given his four weeks vacation. John Rhodes, city attorney, pres~nted h~s bill for the services rendered the city in past e~ght months. Comm. Crawford made a motion to pay th{s bill. Motio~ was seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Motion was carried with a ~ vote from Comms. Whitehead, Jurner, Crawford. No~. Comm. Crawford made a motion to raise water connections and installation fees to $250. Seconded by Comm. Turner. Comm. Crawford and. Turner raised their.hands in favor of motion. Comm. Whitehead VbteQ~agafns~ motion, Mayor Fox stepped down as chair- man to vote~. Motion passed with three votes. Chief Leroy Turner gave a report on the effectiveness of the new radar system. There being no further business to bring before the City Commission Comm. Crawford made a motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Motion c~rried with a ~ vote from Comm. Crawford, Turner, and Whitehead. No NO'$_m-City Commission adjourned at 9:10 P. M.
