MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, HELD APRIL 17,1973.
PRESENT: Mayor Fox: Comms. Turner, Harper, Hamby and Lyle.
ABSENT: None.
The meeting was brought to order at 7:08 P.M. Comm. Harper made
the motion to accept the minutes as read. Comm. Lyle seconded the
motion. Motion carried. The minutes of the Special meeting of
April 9 were read. Camm. Lyle moved to accept as read, seconded
by Comm. Turner. Motion carried.

and zoning of the Walker property located on the corner of Maguire

3. Mrs. Bell from a citizens group in Peach Lake Manor came before
the Council asking for help on clean up problems. They stressed
trat they did not want to hurt anyone's feelings, but they wanted
to startcleaning up. They stated that if someone could not clean
up their own yard, due to age etc., the citizens would help do it
for them. They gave a list of proposals to the council which
they wanted taken care of.
1. Sidewalks and city sewage for Peach Lake Manor within two years..
2. Entrance way into Peach Lake off of Wurst Road onto Lady Ave.
3. Min-a-Mart-laundry-mat on Wurst Rd. cleaned up.
4. Easement for children to walk to Spring Lake Elementary.
5. Curfew stated and enforced thru summer.
6. Old cars tag and removed.
7. Clause in building permit stating addition must be painted
forfinal approval.
8. Loose trash pot in containers
9. Old refrigerators tag and removed.
10. Old gas station on Wurst Rd. removed or reopened.
11. Sidewalk on Wurst redone.
12. Gas station across from Eity Hall cleaned UD.
13. Station and junk yard on Franklin fenced and cleaned.
14. Labor buses parked other than in housing projects.
1~. Soeed Laws better enforced.
16. Entrances into the City beautified.
There was a general discussion held on the topics. Old refrigerat~
ors and cars were a main topic. Comm.Harper asked Mr. Vignetti
what it would take to get rid of the old cars and refrigerators.
Mr. Vignetti said strong enforcement of the city ordinances. Dis-
cussions were held on sidewalks, curfew and old buildings not be-
ing used. Mr. Caldwell was asked to write letters to several
citizens about cleaning up old buildings,stating that legal act-
ion would be taken if they did not take constructive action.
Comm. Lyle recommended that the ladies organize themselves into
a group with officers etc. He also stated that the council would
help all it could.
5. Mr. Thomas Jones came before the Council about sanitation fees.
He was told that if a person has city water he~will also have

sanitation fees since it is available.
Correction on the wording in the density ordinance. Instead
of ~ of units/gross acre it will be ~of units/ usable
acre. Comm. Harper made the motion to table the R-3 density
discussion until a later sate, seconded by Comm. Lyle.
Motion carried.

Betty Turner came bringing preliminary plans of her project.
Mayor Fox stated that she must pave Richmond Ave. (Davis Rd.),paved,
put in a 10 inch water line at her expense and have 5% rec-
reational assessment. Comm. Lyle made the motion that the 5%
recreation assessment be cash, seconded by Comm. Harper. No nays.
Motion carried.

Mr. Karr-Gateway Trucking C~. came to make sure that we would
issue him the building permit for his project. Council agreed.

Mr. Haire and Mr. Lee gave a progress report on the new City
Hall, Police Station and Fire Station. It was decided that
the Council,Police Chief and Fire Chief have a work session
May 2 to discuss the prelimenary plans and progress report.
Ben Hargrove came requesting that the West Orange Y.M,C.A.
be able to have their summer programs at the Ocoee Youth
Center. After some discussion Comm. Turner made the motion
to give the Y.M.C.A. permission to use the facilities at the
Youth Center, seconded by Comm. Hamby. No nays. Motion
carried.
