HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-15-1973 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY comMISSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA HELD MAY 15,1973 I PRESENT. ABSENT: MAYOR FOX; Comms. Turner, Haroer, Lyle, and Hamby. NONE. The meeting began at 7:05 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Comm. Hamby moved to accept the minutes as read. No action. Comm. Lyle moved that the minutes should state qirls softball team not baseball team and that the curfew should read 17 and under and not 18 and under. Comm. Harper moved to accept the corrected minutes seconded by Comm. Hamb~ No nays. Motion carried. 1. Public hearing and final reading of the Annexation and Zoning, from R-3 to C-3, of the East 80 acres. No objection from the floor. Comm. Turner made the motion to accept the ordinance, seconded by Comm. Harper. No nays. Motion carried. 2. Mr. Sullivan came before Council with the description of the Warehouse they want to build. The Planning and Zoning approved and recommended that Council issue the building permit. Comm. Turner moved to accept the recommendation, seconded by Comm. Harper. No nays. motion Carried. 3. 0 & B Mobile Home sales came before Council requesting and Occu- pational license. Comm. Harper made the motion to issue the license, I seconded by Comm. Hamby. No nays. motion carried. 4. Comm. Turner made the motion that Mr. Vignetti deal,with Winter ~ark in the sale of bricks, seconded by Comm. Harper. No nays. Motion carried. 5. Comm. Harper made the motion that Mr. C. Freeman or owners of Palm mobile Home Park purchase individual meters from the city at the usual rate per each space, seconded by Comm. Turner. No nays. Motion carried. Mr. Vignetti will inform them. Mr. Caldwell suggested that the Council draw up an ordinance for this. Council agrees. 6. Discussion held on maintance agreement for traffic signal on SR50/439. Comm. Turner moves to accept agreement, seconded by Comm. Harper. No nays. motion carried. \, "If' ". 7. Amendment to Ordinance 528- Zoning Fees, Sec. 2 (A) (C) (D) to read $100.00. Comm. Harper moves to accept amendment, seconded by Comm. Hamby. No nays. motion carried. 8. Mr. Vignetti stated that the City Engineer needed a utilities map of Ocoee. The estimated cost is around $3000.00. Mr. Vignetti said he would check with the County to see if they could help out. If not he asked if he could get Glen Thomas to do the job. Comm. Lyle said to I take what action is needed, seconded by Comm. Turner. No nays. Motion carried. 9. Boat Regatta discussion. Mayor Fox suggested the Council have a alan drawn up with the committee where the Regatta takes care of the -2- cost of clean-up. Comm.Lyle aqrees. Comm. Harper motions to table the discussion, seconded by Comm. Turner. No nays. 'Motion carried. I 10. Mrs. Bell came before Council. She stated that there would be a work session May 26, 1973 at 8P.M. She also asked if the clean-up committee could use the city mower. General discussions held on junk cars, watering plants the committee puts out, old refrigerators and cleaning up Starke Lake area. Mr. Ben Griffin came stating he was bringing constructive criti- , cism about the abandon car ordinance. Mainly, he said, the ordinance should be more specific. Comm. Hamby made the motion that Mr. Caldwell draw up an ovdinance on abandon cars. Mr. Caldwell agreed. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Water Tank Debt retired May 8, 1973- $50,970.00. 2. Hearing held May 14,1973. Judge validated bonds($400,000.00) 3. City Hall Financing- General discussion. Comm. Turner made the motion to table the discussion, seconded by Comm. Harper. no nays. Motion carried. 4. It was decided that the Quality Court seemed the best place for the Ocoee High School Ball Club Banquet. The date is May 26,1973. 5. Mr. Eastman- drainage problem. I Dis cussi on he ld on trash problem. Comm. Lyle made the motion to correct the signs at the City limits to state: WELCOME TO OCOEE HOME OF 1973 CLASS AA State of Florida Baseball Champions CARDINAL Comm. Harper seconded the motion. No nays. Motion carried. Approved Electric has all the lights up at the ball field, but they do not have the boxes installed. Comm. Lyle made the motion that the city take steps to plant grass and errect a fence around the area, seconded by Camm. Harper. No nays. rnotion carried. Comm. Hamby made the motion Mr. Vignetti get two estimates on the paving at the curve on Maguire Rd., seconded by Comm. Turner. No nays. Motion carried. Comm. Turner motioned to adjourn, seconded by Comm.
