MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OGOEE HELD
SEPTEMBER 4, 1973
PRESENT: CQmm~;. Turner, Harper, Hamby and Lyle.
ABSENT: Mayor Fox
The meeting began at 7:15 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting
were read. Cornnl. Harper moved to accept the minutes as read,
seconded by Comm. Lyle.
1. Tyus vs City of Ocoee. Comrn. Harped moved to table this agreement
until the city attorney and Tyus' attorney could have futher
discussion on this matter, seconded by Gomm. Lyle.
2. Junior Fireman,. Rex Warr came before council requesting an o.k.
to have Junior Fireman,ages 11-17 years. Comm. Harper made a motion
to accept, seconded by Comm. Hamby. It was decided Attorney Caldewell
would draw up a letter releasing City from all liability. Proposal
adopted.
Appointment to Zoing Board. Zoning Board recommends John Carter
to replace Bob Stovall on zoning board. Cornrn. Lyle moved to accept,
seconded by Gomm. Harper. Motion carried.
4. Seaboard Coastline Agreement. City Manager read resolution. Comm.
Harper moved to accept, seconded by Gomm. Lyle. Resolution adopted.
5. Time Limitation. Attorney Caldewell read ordinance. Time limits
set at 180 + 30 days,extention. Comm. Harped moved to accept as
corrected, seconded by Camm. Hamby. Motion carried.
Before the bookkeeping machine presentation was held, there was a
general discussion on topics from the audience. Mrs. Bell came before
council with a petition of over 500 names against the Seaboard Coast
line Rail Road. The petition state they want speed limits cut to
10 mph also railroad crossing signs installed (or flashers) at
A. D. Mims & Wrust Road, Bluford& Rewis, Hwy 50,' McKey and gene va ,
and Story Road. It was decided a resolution would be drawn up

for flashers or flag men at the preceding locations.
Comm. Lyle moved to pay Chief Turners salary until next council
meeting, seconded by Comrn. Harper. Motion carried.
Comrn. Lyle made a motion for the City to construct two tennis
courts with lights and back stops to be installed, seconded by
Comm. Harper.
Comrn. Lyle ask if the City Manager would look into the drainage
situation on Thelma Davis' property at Lyman street.
6. Mr. Deloache from Burroughs came before council with a presentation
on the L-~ accounting/billing machine. Comrn Harper made a motion

to purchase maGhine with provisions for thirty days for council to
decide how to pay for said machine, Comm. Hamby seconded, Comm.
Lyle voted nay.. Comm. Turner ask that the record show if he could
vote it would be a yea vote. Motion carried.
Comm Harper made a motion to adjorn, seconded by Cornrn. Lyle. Being
no futher business meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
