MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF ~ITY OF OCOEE HELD
13 JANUARY 76
PRESENT: MAYOR BREEZE, COMM' LYLE,WHITE~EAD AND STINNETT.

I. ABSENT: COMM. CRAWFORD
I. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
II. Workmens' Compensation Insurance: ~r.Cecil Shoemaker of Corporate Group
Service, Inc. came before council with three proposals (see attached). Exhibit
A Based on Unlimited Payroll. Total Cost $24,022.00 Exhibit B based on limited
payroll. Total Cost $20,309.00. Exhibit C Assigned Risk program. Total cost
~$2l,909.00. Mr. Shoemaker stated that his company would help the city set up
a safety control program and they would do periodic safety checks in the city.
Mr. Shoemaker further stated that if the city had no Josses .in_.1976 Lth5!ywould
be refunded $11,886.00 one year after expiration date of policy. There will
be no penalities assessed for excess (losses. There was much discussion from
council and many suggestions from Doug;Everd (City's Insurance agent of record).
Comm.Lyle and Stinnett ask that the record show they disliked being placed
in the position of making hasty last minute decisions. Comm. Lyle moved to
accept Exhibit B, seconded by Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
III. Jerry Weeks of Wurst Insurance agency came before council with a proposal
for Special Multi-Peril coverage (see attached for specific coverage). Mr.
Weeks stated that U.S.F.&G. had agreed to write this policy for an annual
preminum of $5,654.00
Auto Liability and Physical Damage Policies: Mr. Weeks stated that
F.J.U.A. would write a basic liability of 15/30/5 and employers non-ownership
liability for an annual preminum of $7,015.00 (see attached). To provide total
I' auto liability limits of 100/300/100 Alliance Insurance Co. of Kansas will
write policy for an annual preminum of $10,000.00 (see attached). Physical
damage insurance consisting of collision, fire, theft and combined additional
coverage can be provided thru Lloyds for an annual preminUffi of $7,844.00
(see attached). After much discussion Comm. Lyle moved to accept proposals
as presented by Mr. Weeks, seconded by Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
IV. Other Proposals: None
V. Interim City Manager Discussion: After much discussion Comm.Stinnett
moved to appoint Mr. George Wood (office manager) as Interim City Manager,
seconded by Comm. Lyle. Unanimous.
At Doug Everd's request Comm.Lyle moved to appoint Mayor Breeze as
temporary Trustee of the City's Pension Plan, seconded by Comm.Whitehead.
Unanimous.
Meeting adjourned at 11:30 p.m.
