MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD MARCH 16,76
II PRESENT: MAYOR BREEZE, COMM.STINNETT, WHITEHEAD, CRAWFORD AND LYLE.
ABSENT: NONE
1.&11. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge of allegianc~
Minutes of March 2, meeting were read. Mayor stated that in #5d of said minutes
it should read "Comm.Whitehead moved to approve payment" instead of "Comm.
Whitehead approved payment, also the last paragraph should be "real estate
broker" not "real estate agent". Comm. Lyle moved to accept minutes as correct-
ed, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. The Zoning Board minutes of Public
Hearing held March 4, were read, discussion of said minutes was: deferred until
the end of agenda. Zoning Board minutes of March 9, meeting were read. Comm.
Crawford moved to accept as read, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
IIIb. Mr. Gibson occupational license for repair shop in II district: Comm.
Crawford stated that Mr. Gibson did not need an occupational license for a
repair shop for he will be building starter, batteries and etc., so therefore
he needed an occupational license for manufacturing. Comm. Crawford moved to
grant said license, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
IlIa. Steve Rew noncompliance zoning ordinance: Mr. Rew came before council
stating that he was aware that he had not complied with zoning ordinance and
he apologized for same and assured council he would start construction on
Monday, and hopefully be completed by April 3, (30 day deadline given him
previously by council).
I IVa. Mr. Tommy Ritten came before council requesting that the city abandon
the west 147.75 feet of city right-of-way in Simms Subdivision. After much
discussion Comm. Stinnett moved to abandon said footage, seconded by Comm.
Crawford. Unanimous.
IVb. Mr. Nix - reference zoning compliance for veterinary hospital and
kennels:ln the absence of Mr. Nix's the Mayor explained that he had informed
Mr. Nix that the area in which he was interested was properly zoned for a
veterinary hospital and kennels.
IVc. Reverend Tim Lynch came before council requesting permission to hold
open air meetings in the Ocoee Shopping Center parking lot for a one year
period. Reverend Lynch further stated that he already had the permission of
the owners of the shopping center. Comm. Crawford moved to grant the request
on a month to month basis as long as there were no complaints or ordinances
violated, seconded by Comm. Lyle. Unanimous.
IVd. There was much discussion on the future use of the present City Hall
Building.
a. Teleprompter vs the City of Ocoee hearing will be held April 19 at
9:30 a.m. before Judge Parker Lee McDonald.
b. Richard Kinny (representative of Senator Chiles) will be in City Hall
March 18, from 9 until 10:30 a.m.
Zoning Board Public Hearing minutes March 4:Comm.Crawford stated that
as a citizen he would file a petition requesting the City Commission to review
the Zoning Board's decision to grant approval of a permit under use permitted
I', on review at said public hearing. After much discussion ~mm. Crawford moved
that the City Attorney draw up a resolution amending those portions of the
, 'I Zoning Ordinance that gives the Zoning Board and Board of Adjustment final
I approval on any matter, they are to recommend to council only, seconded by
Comm.Stinnett. Unanimous.
Comm.Crawford stated he wants the water line at the end of Lakeshore
Drive looped and run across the canal to avoid stagnated water at the dead end.
Comm. Whitehead stated a net was needed at the Senior League field
at the top of the back stop to avoid balls being hit in residents yard. City
Manager is trying to get a r.et.

Comm. Lyle stated that Mr. Cothern had ask him to inform council
that the lights at the Little League field are being replaced with quartz
lights. To pay for these lights the league is raffling off tickets for a
CB radio and they are requesting that the city consider purchasing the
CB radio. After much discussion council decided to defer making a decision
until a future date.
Mr.Moore of Lyle Street, stated that the vehicle that the City had
removed from said street had been moved back to the same place. The City
Manager is to look into this matter
